from North Sumatra, Indonesia
• I am an education major with a specialty in
curriculum and instruction at the University of
Illinois. Upon returning home, I plan to go to
teaching at the university level. My study in the
US has made this possible especially with the
scholarships received from Fulbright and DKG.

4. Janet Mola Okoko from Kenya
• I’m a Ph.D. student at the University of Calgary
specializing in educational leadership. I plan to use
this study to develop and implement school
leadership programs in Kenya. This skill will help
me better serve my country and other East African
countries. I am grateful for the support from DKG
members both in cash and in KIND.
5. Weeda Zabih from Afghanistan
• I am a medical doctoral student at UNC. When I
return back to my country, the knowledge of this
degree will help me assist my people, especially
women and children in health-related issues. I really
appreciate the support of DKG towards making this
world a good place to live for everyone.
6. Witriani Soegijardjo
from Bandung, Indonesia
• I am Witri and have studied in Educational
Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of
Missouri. After finishing my study, I have gone back
to Indonesia to my post as a lecturer in the Faculty of
Psychology at the University of Padjadjaran. DKG
has supported my study for three years. My thanks to
all your generous members.
7. Dr. Makaziwe Mandela from
South Africa
• Dr. Mandela has worked for a number of academic
institutions in South Africa, sits on various
boards, including the Nelson Mandela
Foundation, RAND Water Services, Environserve and
Myriad Medical. She holds a BA in social work, an
MA in sociology and a Ph.D. in anthropology from
the University of Massachusetts. She was a World
Fellowship recipient during her Ph.D. Currently
Makaziwe is the chairman of Nozala Investments
Ltd., a broad-based women’s investment
company, whose main goal is to ensure economic
8. Ai Choo Lee from Malaysia
• In 2006, Ai Choo Lee received an extended World
Fellowship award. Attending the University of
Alberta, she graduated with a Ph.D. in Rehab
Science. Ali returned to Malaysia and taught in a
rehab department. She received the highest education
award in Malaysia, the 2010 Teaching Award for
National Academia.
9. Alberta Ester Jules from Haiti
• Alberta is a licensed nurse, has a bookkeeping degree,
a B.A. in education, an M.A. in education and was a
World Fellowship recipient in 2005. She returned to
her native land after the devastating earthquakes.
Through Salesian Missions of Haiti she established a
summer program for 75 children to educate them on
survival skills. 139 showed up daily. She now works
for the United Nations to improve leadership of
public officials toward poverty reduction and
redevelopment. In 2011 she was a key note speaker
at the California State Convention.

• All donations come from our members.
• 100 percent of your donations go to the World
Fellowship Fund.
