12. THE NAKED MARSHMALLOW
COMPANY REBRAND
Toasting success!
T H E B R I E F
Naked are a unique and exciting new brand of naturally
handmade marshmallows. We were approached by Naked to
design the brand and structural look and feel which encompassed
their light hearted take on a campfire classic. After establishing
the Naked brand we then moved on to include their brave new
range extension, introducing real marshmallow infused Gin
and Vodka to their portfolio.

O U R A P P R O A C H
Taking campfire marshmallow toasting as our inspiration we
amplified Naked’s handmade proposition with an understated
brand mark working in tandem with an iconic crossed sticks
marshmallow graphic. We created a bespoke pillow box with a
tent inspired diecut. Bright & punchy colours added shelf appeal.
To extend the design to the spirit range it was important to pivot
the brand in a more serious direction. The textured kraft paper
and foiled belly band evoked premium credentials with the wax
seal representing the gooey marshmallow, the perfect
finishing touch!

JimJams wanted to convey through their packaging their
authentic family focused offering of a healthier alternative
to high sugar spreads more successfully. Their previous pack
design lacked brand and messaging stand out which resulted
in less impact both to consumers and buyers.

Vintage rituals for the modern man
A N E W M E N S G R O O M I N G B R A N D
Design Happy created a mens grooming range from the
ground up, our only limitations were that it had to be rooted
in the UK and to appeal to an ever increasing & premium
male grooming market.

O U R A P P R O A C H
It was important to find a positioning that was not only on
trend but stood out from all competitors in an iconic way.
We were aware of the many barber and beard ranges that
were flourishingly on trend but felt there was still room in
the market for a more modern beard defining brand. We
wanted the brand to be cut from a different cloth and avoid
the typical clichés of beards, tattoos and lumberjack shirts, so
we opted for a different angle. Our approach was to appeal
to a more premium market with the focus being on modern
effortless grooming, using inspiration from simpler days to
formulate the basis for the naming, ingredients and brand
style.
