When someone you admire and support for many years through all of their ups and downs is gone there is a void. It is like a silence has come over a very noisy room. And for a time it appears that the lights have gone out too. But the wisdom and truth shared by the one who is gone will never be overcome by darkness. This poem is inspired by remembering that one person can change the world, and we were here to see him do it. A poem to honor Nelson Mandela.
