• Curator is Latin and means guardian, overseer or to take care of.
• A curator of a cultural heritage institution (Gallery, library, museum) is a
content specialist responsible for an institution's collections and, together
with a publications specialist, their associated collections catalogs.
3. Gallery
• A long enclosed passage, such as a hallway or corridor.. A narrow balcony, usually having a railing or
balustrade, along the outside of a building.
• A projecting or recessed passageway along an upper story on the interior or exterior of a large
building, generally marked by a colonnade or arcade.
• Such a passageway situated over the aisle of a church and opening onto the nave.
• An upper section of a theater or an auditorium to provide additional seating rather than main floor
seating

4. Museum
• In Greek Mythology, the Muses( Mousai): are a sisterhood of goddesses or
spirits who embody the arts and inspire the creation process with their
graces through art, theatre, writing, traditional music, and dance
• Museums enable people to explore collections for inspiration, learning and
enjoyment. They are institutions that collect, safeguard and make
accessible artifacts and specimens, which they hold in trust for society.
5. The Student Exhibition
• Art exhibitions are social events for students and Students have opportunity to with process,
design, and development of an exhibition.
• Team roles: designer, curator, and educator.
• Curator- responsible for concept and concept of show. Perhaps writing of curator statement.
• Designer- responsible for organizations and installation of artwork and artist statements.
• Educator- oversees publicity, design invitations, collection catalog , a sign-in book and the
reception activities (food, discussion, speeches).
• Three phases: Planning, Design and Installation, and the Reception.

• To learn and emulate professional museum & gallery roles
• To experience of taking artwork seriously by the process of matting/framing
and appropriate display.
• To show importance of displaying and sharing of art work to public.
