Introduction
what is a Jacobs ladder
 A Jacob’s ladder is a device for
producing a continuous train of large
  sparks that rise upwards.
What a Jacobs ladder does

The Jacobs ladder starts at the bottom of the two copper rods and
rises up to the top of the rods once the high voltage has heated up
the air carrying it. Due to paschens law stating that as the voltage
rises the pressure of the heated gas around the voltage arc
gradually increases causing the arc to rise

Parts list:
Fly back transformer: 18.89
Circuit board:(CRT coil included): 45.00
Copper Rod: 44.84
Housing: 30.00
Manufacture

The manufacture and building of our product is very simple
and fast there are only four main parts to the actual Jacobs
ladder including the casing the parts are low cost to buy and
make. This means our product can be rapidly produced and
low cost to manufacture.
Benefits to the industry
The benefit of the arc thrower is that it can be used
in the educational field through the sciences and
engineering departments as a teaching tool. It can
also promote reduce reuse recycle. The way in
which it helps recycle is that the main components
that make the Jacobs ladder run can be found in any
bulb computer monitor or television there are large
quantities of both of these from the last decade and
the EPA has banned any incineration or throwing
away of them. So this can be a benefit to recycling.
conclusion
In conclusion the Jacobs ladder is an inexpensive tool for
educators and it is easy to build and manufacture it.
There is a large market for this product and school
systems with science and engineering departments alike
can find a use for this product.
