1. Think Dots Activity – DNA and Mendelian Genetics
Directions:
Roll the die provided and complete the activity described on the back of the
laminated number card you rolled. For example, if you roll a number “3”, you will
imagine you’re Rosalind Franklin where you’ve just used X-ray crystallography to
discover the basic structure of DNA. Use Voicethread (www.voicethread.com) to
create a podcast in order to display images of your findings and further share your
experience and work in a radio talk show. Your podcast should include at least 10
slides, with at least 5 images.
You will complete a total of two activities from the Think Dots Activity. Feel free to
use an activity from both sets of Think Dots if you choose. You may select both
activities from the same card sets or from different card sets. Rubrics will be
provided for each of the activities listed. Each activity will include a technology
component, complete with artifact criteria. Be sure to read the requirements
carefully, being sure to raise any questions as they arise. For purposes of this
activity, you will need access to your class textbooks and any notes and assignments
we have completed in class.
