2. Pull Focus
A pull focus is to bring something distorted from out of focus to focus to
draw the audiences attention in to it and in this scene being the birthday
cake.
3. Tracking
The tracking shot is used to change from a wide shot to a close up to put the
cake into the frame as it has significance.
4. Trombone Shot
A trombone shot is used for a revelation. In this scene it is used to show that
the actor has saw something which she is scared of which is why she runs
away.
5. High Angle Shot
The use of a high angle shot is for us to be looking down on her, as right now she is
weak and that is what this angle is trying to portray.
6. Corridor
The use of a mid shot with a shallow depth of field to a sudden mid shot is
used to show the emptiness of the corridor she is in and how she is
isolated.
7. Steadicam
The use of a steadicam is to have the footage be stable whilst moving quite fast
and in this sequence its used to represent a chase scene.
8. Shot Reverse Shot
The is a different use of this shot type, as here it is to show both perspectives of her
running away in the light, versus the thing chasing her in the dark.
9. Arc Shot
The arc shot is used to show a revelation and to signify that nothing will be the
same after that point. This is used to show she won’t be the same after she lost
her daughter.
