Editor's Notes
The cornerstone of the plant was made in 1966 and after 2 years was first produced Dacia 1100 under Renault 8 license. In 1999, Dacia factories were taken over/ bought by Renault which has made the replacement of industrial equipment, the modernization of manufacture, training employees to manufacture a new product, the Dacia Logan and then a whole range of vehicles.
Industrial Platform in Mioveni has an area of 2.9 million hectares of which 623,000 m² built: • to get an idea of its size, we could compare the platform to 300 football fields; • total investment in 2000 (after buying Dacia by Renault) and 2010 amounted to 1.5 billion euros; • the total number of employees is 15 250 people. The three entities that are engaged in manufacturing: Dacia Vehicles Plant, Mechanical and Chassis Dacia Plant and International Logistics RIR ILN Center.
In Dacia Vehicles Plant, we produce vehicles for the current range. Logical flow of the manufacturing is performed in four departments: • in the Stamping Shop Department reach the pressing plate in the form of coils or sheet packages which is cut, and are manufactured by pressing/ stamping of body parts; • body parts arrives in the Car Body Shop department where they are assembled by welding points and composing with the moving elements the vehicle body; • assembled body is transferred to the Painting Shop department which is treated, passing through several stages and then painted; • painted bodies arrive then in the Assembly Shop which are equipped with all the parts from suppliers. All these processes are supported by a very intense logistical flow.
In Plant Mechanics and Chassis produce mechanical parts for bodies, but also assemble TL and JH gearboxes, engine, chassis, manufacture aluminum castings (there is an aluminum foundry).
Production from the two plants, in the year 2010, amounts to: 341,408 vehicles and 247,761 engines, 560,342 gearboxes (see figures on the slide). Because 50% of the parts purchased to equip our vehicles are insured in the production of suppliers located on the platform, taking into account that: - plastic parts inside the vehicle, but also from outside it (the dashboard, door panels) - seats - air-conditioning systems - Exhaust pipes - LPG installations, are produced and assembled on the platform, in the Industrial Area Providers.
To be successful, must produce quality products and solid in order to position us ahead of the competition, so to win the trust of customers. In terms of quality, we still stand among the top three plants of the Renault Group. In early 2011, the Romanian Auto Registry recertified the Quality Management System in Dacia: it conforms to the ISO 9001:2008 standard is mature, robust and appropriate. Numerous publications have praised the quality of our vehicles specialist placing us in the top European rankings: robustness, reliability, good ratio price/ quality of vehicles allowed to outclass some brands.
With regard to our customers, factory machines manufactured vehicles arrive on the four continents (Asia, Africa, Europe, South America), in over 60 countries (France, Germany, Italy, Algeria, Turkey, Spain, Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Serbia, Lebanon, Syria, Cameroon, Congo, Liberia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Morocco, Mali, Belarus, Poland, Montenegro, Slovakia, Estonia, Slovenia).
If we talk about customers of Dacia Mechanics and Chassis Plant, they are manufacturing plants in the Renault Group: France, United Kingdom, Morocco, Colombia etc.
One of the activities take place in the international dimension ILN Logistic Center - IRR, the largest center of the Renault Group in the volumes shipped, with a: • Area 150 000 sq.m. of which 36,000 m² building • Investments made by the inauguration in 2005 until 2008 amounts to 22.3 million • Number of employees is 289 people • Number of references (single piece) is managed by 5268. ILN Center serves manufacturing centers in Dacia (Romania), Russia (2 plants), Morocco, Colombia, Iran (two plants), India, South Africa and Brazil. In 2010 they were sent 837,036 cubic meters of tracks, the equivalent of 412,018 vehicles. He received the 34,240 m ³ platform import of parts for customers UVD, UMCD (of which RMR) and plants in Russia.
To illustrate the activities of the ILN, you can see the slide to and from the main streams made logistics center: - from Dacia and suppliers in the country or abroad, where parts are delivered by the ILN is received, then put / packaged according to their specific destination and - sets/ kits of parts thus obtained are loaded onto trucks or trains and shipped to factories where they assemble the Renault Group Logan, Sandero and Duster (some of them).
We mentioned about parts suppliers and in this sense, we have a number of Dacia 242 suppliers of which 166 are outside the country and 76 in Romania. Of these, five are implanted suppliers / providers located in industrial zone, ie at about 2 km from the assembly line. They are: • Johnson Control for collections of chairs • EuroAPS for thermoformed plastic parts and • Cortubi for exhaust pipes • Valeo Climate for air conditioning • Landi Renzo LPG installations For other parts and products (oil, equipment, etc..) Necessary for the construction and maintenance equipment, tools exist a number of suppliers from 949 to 720 are in Romania. Approximately 50% of a Dacia vehicle is built with parts purchased from outside suppliers. Therefore, the overall quality of vehicles depends to a large extent on the quality of these pieces. To ensure the quality of parts supplied by external providers, in Dacia and methods using the same steps as in any other Renault factory. Moreover, the Renault Group, Dacia is known for rigor in applying these approaches as suppliers.
In modern society, can not sell products manufactured at the factory gate. To be closer to customers, but also by potential buyers, Romania has been modernized and extended commercial network which currently includes 71 licensed commercial agents Dacia 100 points Dacia sales of new vehicles and 89 to 109 approved repairers service points. Since its inception, the network was designed for Dacia are closer to customers. We can say that the most competitive network in Romania, now, given the number of agents and the coverage area.
The current range includes several versions of a station wagon vehicle, two utility hachback model, a SUV, Duster, first in the history of Dacia. Please note that from 2004 to 2006 we managed to conquer much of today's markets with a single model: Dacia Logan sedan. For Dacia, Duster marks the maturity of this range. With no fewer than six models produced on the same assembly line, the plant in Pitesti is now at any industrial site in the world of Renault. We are now a modern range, covering important segments of the market. We have the image of a dynamic manufacturer, a brand whose products are unreliable, robustness and qualitative.
To support post-sales activity last year opened a new spare parts center is located at the entrance to Pitesti. It has an area of ??65,000 hectares and the work is carried out by 151 persons, there are 10 storage cells is: Dacia global source store export activity represents 40% of the turnover of the store 70 745 references managed from Dacia, Renault and Nissan 369 suppliers, of which 206 in Romania and 163 external.
Sales development of Dacia vehicles has been important since 2004. From 2000 to 2004 there has been a stagnation in sales explained by the pending launch of Dacia Logan. In recent years, the ratio of internal sales and external market has changed significantly tilting the balance for export: In 2010, nearly 90% of Dacia sales were made outside the country.
Main export destination markets are France, Germany, Algeria, Turkey, Italy, etc.. Sales volumes in the 10 main markets in which we present are important, France leading the list.
Dacia is ranked on 2 nd place in terms of sales volume of the Renault Group, representing 13% of total Group sales with 348,000 vehicles and 156,000 vehicles RSM (or 6%). In 2011, one of the concerns of the Renault Group will be to maintain market shares obtained in the last two years and loyalty of current customers through quality products by reducing delivery times for products "far" from each area and impeccable service.
Manufacturing activities may generate hazardous wastes and emissions for both us and the environment if not controlled. To this end, since 2000, we invested a lot in order to reduce and / or eliminate any adverse effects resulting from the manufacturing, processing etc. Thus, today's vehicles bear the signature Dacia ECO2 which means that are both economic and ecologic. This means that our products are manufactured in an ISO 14001 certified plant that the vehicle CO2 emissions are equal to or less than 140 g/ km and that at the end of life 95% of car components are recyclable and minimum 5 % of plastic is made from recycled materials.
The results of efforts made to protect the environment and improve working conditions of employees are important: - reduced electricity consumption by 74.1% - reduced CO ² emissions per vehicle to 77.42% - and has reduced water consumption by 87.41% - emissions of VOC (volatile organic compounds) were reduced by 50.8% - hazardous waste decreased by 46.6% The total investment for this purpose, made in the period 2000 - 2010, amounting to 21.69 million euros. Customers in Western Europe not only have regard to the price when they buy a car, but that is its degree of pollution. In this respect, plants are a reference to Pitesti in Romania. By our behavior through the rules and black lists and we will maintain this level moving forward. Caring for the environment is therefore all responsibility!
