Editor's Notes

  1. In 1919, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded. KLM is Dutch for KoninklijkeLuchtvaartMaatschappij (literally: Royal Aviation Company). KLM is the oldest airline in the world. In 1920, made its first scheduled flights between Amsterdam and London - service that it continues to provide to the very present. In that first year - when flying was still very special - KLM transported 345 passengers and 25,000 kilos of mail and cargo. That is very different today. On a single Boeing 747 flight, KLM can carry more than 400 passengers and 20,000 kilos of cargo (including mail). In 2004, we took an enormous step by merging with Air France. And, although the two companies work very closely, KLM still flies around the world under its own, familiar name.
  2. Offering reliability and a healthy dose of Dutch pragmatism, 32,000 KLM employees work to provide innovative products for our customers and a safe, efficient, service-oriented operation with a proactive focus on sustainability.KLM strives to achieve profitable growth that contributes to both its own corporate aims and to economic and social development.KLM works to create sustainable growth at Schiphol, to gain access to any market that will increase the quality its network and to maintain a level playing field for all industry players. It also works to ensure a balance between the company’s interests and those of the people living and working close to the airport. KLM wants to be the customers’ first choice, to be an attractive employer for its staff and, a company that grows profitably for its shareholders. With smart partnerships and pioneering new destinations, KLM offers global access through its extensive network. By responding to market opportunities and technological developments, KLM offers customers a contemporary product.
  3. 1 Euro = 1.33 US Dollars
  4. In 2013, the Group is pursuing its strategic investment to offer innovative products and services which are adapted to evolving customer needs. It is also developing strategic partnerships and further extending its long-haul network, the leading network on departure from Europe. The Group's employees are driving this transformation by enabling the implementation of new working conditions and action plans, thereby building the future of Air France-KLM.Backed by these strengths, the Group plans to re-affirm its leadership position within the air transport industry at global level. The €2 billion free cash flow will be generated through the downward revision of investments and through the implementation of a transformation plan supporting the return to a satisfactory level of profitability.
  5. Throughout the years, KLM has put together cooperative efforts with a variety of airlines. Merger partner Air France is an important player in the AIR FRANCE KLM Group. On the North Atlantic route AIR FRANCE KLM Group has entered into a joint venture with Delta Air Lines, which Alitalia also joined in July 2010. Alongside Air France and KLM eleven other airlines are united in the SkyTeam alliance. By connecting the networks of many different airlines throughout the world, we can take you from Schiphol to almost any spot on the globe. KLM regularly offers new destinations. When expanding its network, KLM pays keen attention to developments in a region or country's economic situation and tourist industry, which offer opportunities for profitable growth.
  6. Video Game - Its purpose seems to be entirely to entertain people and build a stronger relationship between the brand and its followers.First airline to offer 24/7 availability of customer service though social media
