tutus, dance around Clara and the prince, creating a stunning winter scene. The original and the modernized version do have the costuming in
common, which wouldn't be surprising was it not for the dancers involved. While the Waltz of the Snowflakes is traditionally a rather feminine
piece, Mark Morris chose here to use the entire ensemble, regardless of gender, in the dance, all of whom wore the same white tutu costumes with
headpieces that further hid their gender and sex. Additionally, the choreography in the dance, unlike most ballet pieces, is not separated by gender.
Each dancer dances the same choreography regardless of their sex or gender. The choice of contemporary ballet is perfect for the message and
concepts behind the piece, taking a story, or long held dance rules, and bending them to modern times while still protecting the integrity of the original

pretend that he is unable to feel empathy.
The em dash in this story suggests Montresor feels remorse but wills it away. But in doing so, proves that perfect revenge is nonexistent. No matter
how deep the hatred may be for Fortunato, Montresor is only human and as such, his consciousness and empathy take control of him. This newâfound
realization and remorse is quickly overcome, regaining his composure by stating his feelings occurred "on account of the dampness of the catacombs"

The romantic era had begun in the early 19th century and was the most innovative era for the ballet. Known for the reflection of art and literature, the
romantic era was the time of fantasy, etherealism and supernaturalism. Female dancers became the superstars of the ballet especially with the
introduction of pointe work, the iconic romantic tutu and themes of a love that could never be. On a softly lit stage lights flickered over ghostly forms.
Throughout the romantic era many innovative features were introduced such as gas lighting, trap doors and fly wires. Gas lighting was used as the
transition light from sunshine to moonlight for the ballet acts. Gas lighting created a mood to tell the story of a love that was destined to fail, especially
in Giselle. The dark light of the second act filtered across the willis as they haunted the graveyard. Trap doors and fly wires were innovative as it gave
the effect of the ballerina's disappearing and flying through the air delicately.
The ballet Giselle is a romantic ballet based on a forbidden love between a royal and a commoner. Giselle is a young girl who has a weak heart and
falls deeply in love with a royal named Albercht. Giselle has a strong passion for dancing however, her heart limits her from doing what she loves.
Later in the ballet she finds out that the man she loves dearly is engaged with another woman.
In the romantic era the costuming had a large impact on performances. The costumes complimented the ballerinas.
