1. Photography – Task 2
Digital Photography Techniques –
Framing: The frame of these are A4 portrait. For one of the images the background is a
restaurant and I thought that for the perspective for the viewer it would look good as it
shows I was outside. The others are all in a classroom, and the model is standing in front of
a whiteboard.
2. Shutter speed: This has an effect on the amount of light that shows in the photo, I couldn’t
adjust this setting as I didn’t use a DSLR camera, I used my smartphone to take the
photographs.
Aperture: As I took the photographs with my phone, I couldn’t change the aperture as there
was nothing covering the camera to begin with. Therefore it had no effect on the pictures
that I took.
Exposed: One of my photos were under-exposed as it was very dark, and the other one was
over exposed as it was fairly bright, it looked correct to begin with but because of the sun, it
caused the photograph to be over-exposed. The rest of my images were normal and correct
as I took them inside a building.
File size: The size of the files is not big, instead of using them on a media product such as a
website or billboard, I would rather publish them. However, they can still go on media
products.
Compositionand Misc-en-scene–
I would say my photos are good enough, as they would be aligned with guidelines if I used
the rule of thirds and the focus on the images I have decided to use is good, making the
photographs look good quality. Also the background frame looks well with the images I
have chosen to use. The attire of one of the images are a man dressing casual, and the other
is a man dressed up formal. The angles look nice as none of them are straight ahead, they
are more less a side view.
Storing –
The size of these photos are not big, they were taken from a smartphone and they are able
to be put on a website. I put them on a computer by sending them by email, then saving it
into a folder. If I wanted to I could have just plugged my phone into the computer and
dragged the images into the folder. I saved the files as the name of the model with the task
number.
