In the world of sports arenas there is one that stands as a pivotal high point above almost all other
stadiums. The University of Southern California's mammoth of a stadium, the Los Angeles
Memorial Coliseum is one of the biggest sports stadiums in college football, and has been a standard
by which others are judge. Being declared a land mark by the state of California after nearly 80
years of use, this structure has had many different uses other than its current purpose of housing one
of the most dominate teams in college football, the Trojans. Since its opening day the stadium has

Several efforts have been made by Brian Helgeland always director and screenwriter to create a
character Jackie is not a person who's too perfect. Many ways, among others by writing the
character of Jackie as a figure of temperament or show some failures Jackie in a game. But again
these things are still too safe and not to make me feel the character of Jackie as someone who was
more humane. I did not know the figure of Jackie Robinson before watching this movie, but I am
sure that all the figures and inspiration powerful as any he must have a dark side that makes it not
perfect. From the plot also nothing special here. Everything flows in the direction that is predictable.
But with all the standard stuff and the option to play on the safe path is fortunately not make 42 into
a boring spectacle. At least Helgeland and the actors were able to make this film remains
entertaining to watch.
Some dramatic moments shown although often feels cliche but I admit still able to give an injection
of emotion that makes the film more alive. Some conflicts are present talked about the racism that is
so thick and my mission for this movie to describe how bad racism is quite successful. I myself
made so annoyed at people who act in a racist on Jackie in this film and be able to strike a few
moments though again feels cliche. Beyond the cliché, but entertaining story, 42 also benefited from

With his view on people, influenced by the faith of the goodness in humanity, Charles dickens
portrays in a compassionate way the poor and overlooked's poor conditions in the 1800'century, in
his popular novel "Oliver Twist".

The family lived on a sharecropper's farm until the plantation owner used the father's leave as an
excuse to keep the whole crop the family had raised and to evict the widow and her children (54).

The Internal Conflict When the Vietnam war took place, many people protested against it as they
believed that the war's purpose was illogical and unreasonable. Many people tried to protest against
it in different ways; for example, men who were drafted to the war fled the country – as a form of
protest – in order to dodge the draft. Stories like "On the Rainy River" and "John Strickland: Draft
Dodger" show how men reacted when they were drafted to the Vietnam War, a war which they were
opposed to. In the story "On the Rainy River" – the story was written by an author was also named
Tim O'Brien just like the main character in the story – O'Brien was opposed to the war as he
believed that the war was unjust and unreasonable and saw it as unnecessary. He tried to flee the
country to dodge the draft but he couldn't bring himself to do it as he felt too guilty and ashamed of
his decision to avoid fighting in the war. However, in the story "John Strickland: Draft Dodger" –
the story was written by John Strickland himself – Strickland, a man who also disagreed with the
reason for the war, fled the country as he didn't believe in fighting in a war which had no solid

Twisted explores current social issues such as bullying and rumors which is great for readers to
relate to and empathize with. The story essentially follows a boy named Tyler, the narrator,
throughout his year in hell also known as senior year. We learn that Tyler (on page 2 of Twisted) had
gone from "Nerd Boy" into "Tyler the Amazing Hulk", a "somebody", after he had spray–painted
the schools walls and proceeded to be caught. He was put on probation & made required to work

the harsh discrimination Jackie would get, so Branch held a historic meeting with Jackie, and said
the harshest things to him to see if Jackie could withstand it, and on October 23, 1945, Robinson
signed his first contract. Rickey thought Jackie would be more comfortable playing in Canada for

He might have been one of the greatest to ever play the game of baseball. Not only did he change
the path of baseball he rerouted history completely. Many people believe that he is the reason that
sports today have been bi–racially integrated. Robinson was the first African–American to ever play
in the major leagues. He first played for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro leagues. Jackie
Robinson was known for breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball when he first took the
field for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. During his rookie season he was deemed rookie of the year.
During the 1949 season Jackie was inducted onto the All–star team. Jackie had many
accomplishments throughout his career including when the Dodgers beat the Yankees in the 1955
World Series. Jackie was known on the field for his tenacity for the game, he was fast around the

Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia and he passed away on October
24, 1972. He was the youngest of five children, and he was raised by his single mother. When he got
older he attend Muir High School and Pasadena Junior College. While attending both schools he
was an star athlete that played four sports. He played football, basketball, track, and baseball. In
1938 he would be named the regions Most Valuable Player in baseball.
He got his motivation to play from his older brother Matthew Robinson, who was also a renowned
athlete that competed in the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin. He won a silver medal in the 200 meter
dash.
After Jackie graduated he would continue his education at the University of California, Los Angeles.
He was so talented that he was the first student to win varsity letters in four sports at his university.
Jackie Robinson did not graduate due to him not having the funds to continue his education. He
would soon move to Honolulu, Hawaii to play semi professional football for the Honolulu Bears. He
had a short career as a football player due to the U.S. entering World War II. Robinson was a second
lieutenant in the United States Army from 1942 to 1944. Since he did not want move to give up his
seat and move to the back of the bus he was charged. Due to his excellent reputation the charges
were dropped.
In 1944, Robinson was discharged from the army and he begin playing baseball professionally.

Jackie was a phenomenal athlete for young kids to look up to. After the start of World War II he
served in the military from 1942 to 1944. After the war he returned to his love for baseball, playing
in the Black major leagues. He was chosen by Branch Rickey, vice president of the Brooklyn
dodgers, to help integrate the Major Leagues. Rickey hated segregation just as much as Robinson
and wanted to change things "Rickey had once seen a Black college player turned away from a
hotel... Rickey never forgot seeing this player crying because he was denied a place to lay his weary
