might distribute your media
product and why?
2. The publisher that I believe would publish my magazine onto the shops
shelves would be IPC Media, the reason for this is because they produce
the NME and this is a magazine I based my work around. Furthermore, IPC
are one of the biggest media institutes within the UK and as my magazine
is UK based it would make sense for this company to produce my content.
A little insight into IPC media is that they produce and publish magazines
of which 28 million adults In the UK have read, so due to my audience
being an 18+ it makes a lot of sense for this company to produce my
magazine.
Also as IPC media are such a big company, they should offer big amount
of advertisements within my magazine at a small price, due to the mass
size of the company. Finally as it is such a big institution, the overall image
should be quality as they are a professional body.
3. Distribution :
The type of distribution that I would expect IPC to produce, is the standard
physical copies to retail shops such as ASDA, Morrison’s, WH smiths and all
other newsagents. This will reach the majority of my target audience
because generally the 18+ category of people go shopping weekly, so
every month they would see my magazine on the shelf and buy the
magazine.
But it must be seen because IPC Media is such a big distributer, they would
also offer online magazine to customers, this is something that the
younger amount of my generation would buy. So this involves online
distribution which offers the magazine without leaving the house hold.
Furthermore with online distribution, IPC media could offer an App for
smart phones. This would appeal to the younger generation of my target
audience, because this means on the way to work on the train etc., they
can read the magazine on the go.
