You’re invited
Date: May 23, 2013
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: IBM Edmonton - Innovation Centre 10044-108 Street
Introduction
Step into various user roles in a fictitious company to discover how JK Life Wealth solved its data integration challenge using IBM® InfoSphere®
Information Server. This Proof of Technology provides a hands-on experience for customers who need to understand how to derive value from complex,
heterogeneous information spread across systems.
Objective
Built on a unified platform and working in concert with revolutionary data integration methodology, IBM InfoSphere Information Server delivers:
■ Productivity: Dramatically simplifies how organizations deal with heterogeneous information, creating information that is quickly and easily
understood, and integrated and delivered to meet any business requirement.
■ Trust: Increases confidence in information by ensuring consistency and quality in information across the enterprise; facilitates alignment of
business and IT goals by maintaining meaning, context, and lineage of information.
■ Scalability and performance: Enables enterprises to deal with the huge and ongoing growth of data volume, providing a complete view of
information in a timely and efficient manner.
■ Value: Leverages service-oriented architecture (SOA) to unlock information from individual application silos, creating more accessible and
consistent information throughout the enterprise.
The Proof of Technology will provide hands-on experience with the following components:
■ InfoSphere Business Glossary: Defines data stewards, creates and manages business terms and definitions, and relates these objects to physical
data assets.
■ InfoSphere Metadata Workbench: Explores and analyzes information assets.
■ InfoSphere Discovery: Captures standard database relationships and discovers complex associations and transformation rules
■ InfoSphere FastTrack: Accelerates the development process by translating source to target specifications into DataStage® jobs
■ InfoSphere QualityStage: Standardizes and matches information across heterogeneous sources.
■ InfoSphere DataStage®: Extracts, transforms, and loads data between multiple sources and targets.
■ InfoSphere Information Server Manager: Moves Information Server design objects and job executables from a development environment to test or
production environment.
■ InfoSphere Information Analyzer: Monitors data rules on an ongoing basis to eliminate the risk of proliferating incorrect and inaccurate data.
■ InfoSphere Information Services Director: Enables information access and integration processes for publishing as reusable services in an SOA
environment.
■ InfoSphere DataStage Balanced Optimization: Automatically or semi-automatically optimizes your job design
■ InfoSphere Federation Server: Accesses multiple diverse data and content sources in real time
■ InfoSphere Change Data Capture: Real time change data capture across heterogeneous data stores
