5. Postmodernism
Postmodernism is a late 20th century movement in the arts, architecture, and criticism that was a departure from
modernism. Postmodernism includes skeptical interpretations of culture, literature, art, philosophy, history, economics,
architecture, fiction, and literary criticism.
6. Grunge
Grunge art is a dark and dirty form of art, it originates from Grunge music. This is a style of rock music characterized by a
raucous guitar sound and lazy vocal delivery.
7. Op art
Op art, short for optical art, is a style of visual art that uses optical illusions. they give the viewer the impression of
movement, hidden images, flashing and vibrating patterns.
8. Pop art
Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the 1950s it emerged in Britain and United States. Pop art presented a
challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular culture such as advertising, news, etc. In pop art,
material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material. The
concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.
9. Art nouveau
Art nouveau is an international style of art, architecture and applied art, especially the decorative arts, that was most
popular between 1890 and 1910. A reaction to the academic art of the 19th century, it was inspired by natural forms and
structures, particularly the curved lines of plants and flowers.
10. Punk
The graphic design of the late 70s punk. ‘Punk’ is a part of art, music and fashion. Underpinned by the same snarling
anti-establishment attitude and DIY ethos, punk art and graphics have a rawness that comes from both the artists and
designers behind them and their means of production.

Anime is a term for a style of Japanese comic book and video cartoon animation in which the main characters have large
doe-like eyes.
13. kitsch
In the arts, kitsch is used to describe art that is pretentious, vulgar and displays a complete lack of sophistication.
14. Photo-realist
Photorealism is the grail of computer graphics. In movies, whether artists are recreating animals or hash
weather conditions. the goal is to create something that looks real.
15. Futuristic
Futurism was an artistic and social movement that originated in Italy in the early 20th century. It emphasized speed,
technology, youth, and violence, and objects such as the car, the aeroplane, and the industrial city.
16. cartoon
A cartoon is a type of two-dimensional illustration. While the specific definition has changed over time, modern usage refers
to a typically non-realistic or semi-realistic artistic style of drawing, painting or animation.
18. Factual
Factual television is a genre of nonfiction television such as the news that documents actual events and people.
19. Editorial
An article in a newspaper or magazine expressing the opinion of the editor or publisher.
20. Lifestyle
Non fiction that document the ways and circumstances people live in. An example of this is an autobiography.
21. Music
A music genre is a conventional genre that identifies pieces of music as belonging to a shared tradition or set of
conventions.
22. Action
A genre where the main character usually becomes involved in a series of challenges such as combats and shoot outs.
23. Adventure
This genre involves the protagonists exploring and is full of conquests. The adventure is normally risk taking and involves
physical harm.
26. Fashion
Non fiction that presents different type of styles in clothing. For example, fashion magazines.
27. Fantasy
It is a fiction that involves unrealistic and imaginary places and sometimes people. It has the element of the supernatural.
For example Alice in the wonderland.
28. Simulation
It is fiction that tries to copy numerous activities from reality in the form of video games.
