Policy
Access and Equity Operating Principles













Community Training Australia (CTA), as a Recognised Training Organisation aims to
ensure that access to training and employment is available, regardless of gender,
socioeconomic background, disability, ethnic origin, age or race.
CTA’s training services are delivered in a non-discriminatory, open and respectful
manner.
CTA’s staff are appropriately skilled in access and equity issues, including
cultural awareness and sensitivity to the requirements of clients with special
needs.
CTA ensures that its facilities provide reasonable access to clients of all levels of
mobility, and physical and intellectual capacity.
Client selection for training opportunities is conducted in a manner that includes
and reflects the diverse client population.
CTA actively encourages the participation of clients from traditionally
disadvantaged groups and specifically offers assistance to those most
disadvantaged.
CTA provides culturally inclusive language, literacy and numeracy advice and
assistance that assists clients in meeting their training goals.
CTA is accountable for its performance in adhering to the principles of this
policy, and welcomes feedback
The following State and Commonwealth legislation provides the legal
framework for CTA’s Access and Equity Operating Principles:

Anti Discrimination Act 1991 and Anti Discrimination Legislation Regulation 2005
(Qld) Vocational Education, Training and Employment Act 2000 and Regulation
2000 (Qld) Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 and Regulation 2008 (Qld)
Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cwlth)
Disability Discrimination Act 1992
(Cwlth) Workplace Relations Act
1996 (Cwlth)
