2. JDRF Teams Up with the Israel Science Foundation
A student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, Cliff Kigar has also served as a
coach at Haymakers Lacrosse club in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, Clifford “Cliff” Kigar supports
the ongoing efforts of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)--the leading
organization working toward better treatments and a cure for Type 1 Diabetes in children.
3. JDRF Teams Up with the Israel Science Foundation
In December 2019, JDRF rolled out a new partnership with the Israel Science Foundation (ISF)
that will see more money invested in Type 1 Diabetes research in the country. The move will
amount to some $6 million in additional funding through the end of 2024. A central feature of this
collaboration is the two organizations' mutual canvassing of regional researchers for proposed
multidisciplinary trials with emerging treatment modalities, such as beta cell replacement and
immunotherapy.
4. JDRF Teams Up with the Israel Science Foundation
In his comments, JDRF Assistant Vice President of Research Andrew Rakeman, Ph.D., said that
ISF and JDRF together will be a force for Type 1 Diabetes research. He believes that the
partnership will drive further innovation in developing treatments for the disease. To learn more
