Flohale Inhaler is a prescription inhaled
corticosteroid (ICS) medicine used for
the long-term treatment of asthma in
people aged 4 years and older.
Flohale Inhaler has a marked anti-
inflammatory effect in the lungs.
This medicine decreases symptoms and
exacerbations of asthma in patients
previously treated with bronchodilator
alone or with other prophylactic therapy.

➢Adults and children over 16 years of age: 100 to
1000 mcg twice daily. Patients should be given a
starting dose of inhaled Fluticasone Propionate which
is appropriate for the severity of their disease.
➢Mild asthma: 100 to 250 mcg twice daily.
➢Moderate asthma: 250 to 500 mcg twice daily.
➢Severe asthma: 500 to 1000 mcg twice daily.
➢The dose may then be adjusted until control is
achieved or reduced to the minimum effective dose,
according to the individual response.

➢Paediatric population Children over 4
years of age: 50 to 200 mcg twice daily.
In a lot of children, asthma will be well
controlled using the 50 to 100 mcg twice
daily dosing regime.

Flohale Inhaler (Generic Fluticasone
Propionate HFA Inhaler) has to be
stored at controlled room temperature
i.e. from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F)
with excursions permitted between 15°
to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines
away from children and pets.

Candida albicans infection of the mouth and pharynx
may occur. Monitor patients periodically. Advise the
patient to rinse his/her mouth with water without
swallowing after inhalation to help reduce the risk.
Potential worsening of infections (e.g., existing
tuberculosis; fungal, bacterial, viral, or parasitic
infection; ocular herpes simplex). Use Fluticasone
Propionate Inhaler with caution in patients with these
infections. More serious or even fatal course of
chickenpox or measles could occur in susceptible
patients.
Risk of impaired adrenal function when transferring from
systemic corticosteroids. Taper patients slowly from
systemic corticosteroids if transferring to Flohale
Inhaler.

11. Flohale Inhaler Warnings

Hypercorticism and adrenal suppression may
occur with very high dosages or at the regular
dosage in susceptible individuals. If such
changes occur, discontinue Flohale Inhaler
slowly.
Assess for decrease in bone mineral density
initially and periodically thereafter.
Monitor growth of pediatric patients.
Close monitoring for glaucoma and cataracts is
warranted.

Contraindications
Flohale Inhaler is contraindicated in
patients with a hypersensitivity to
Fluticasone Propionate or any other
component of this medication.
This medicine is also contraindicated for
primary treatment of status asthmaticus or
acute episodes of asthma requiring
intensive measures.

13. Flohale Inhaler Side Effects

➢Most common Generic Fluticasone
Propionate Inhaler (Flohale Inhaler) side
effects with an incidence rate of 3% or
higher include upper respiratory tract
infection or inflammation, throat irritation,
sinusitis, rhinitis, oral candidiasis, nausea
and vomiting, gastrointestinal discomfort,
fever, cough, bronchitis, and headache.

Chronic overdosage may result in signs or
symptoms of hypercorticism.
Inhalation by healthy volunteers of a single
dose of 1,760 or 3,520 mcg of Fluticasone
Propionate Inhaler was well tolerated.
Repeat oral doses of up to 80 mg daily for 10
days in healthy volunteers and repeat oral
doses up to 20 mg daily for 42 days in patients
were well tolerated.
Adverse reactions were of mild or moderate
severity, and incidences were similar in active
and placebo treatment groups.

Generic Fluticasone Propionate Inhaler
(Flohale Inhaler) has been classified by
the US FDA as Pregnancy Category C.
There are no adequate and well-controlled
studies with Fluticasone Propionate HFA
Inhaler in pregnant women.
Flohale HFA Inhaler should be used
during pregnancy only if the potential
benefit justifies the potential risk to the
fetus.
