This document shows the percentage of students in Hawaii who scored as proficient on annual state reading and math assessments from 2003 to 2010. Overall proficiency rates increased over time, from 41% in reading and 20% in math in 2003 to 67% and 49% respectively in 2010. Proficiency rates also generally increased across grades 3 through 10 over this period in both subjects. The data indicates rising student achievement in Hawaii as measured by these standardized tests.
