2. Poster Research This is an advertisement for a local Australian daily paper. I like the use of the variety of people each reading part of the newspaper, it shows the public that the newspaper appeals to a wide audience so will influence a wide range of people to buy it. It also includes a slogan which is typical of a newspaper advert, along with the use of bright colour to draw attention to it. Although these two poster s aren't specifically for a local newspaper it still gives off ideas of how I could design my poster to promote my newspaper. The poster on the left shows a man on a beach reading a newspaper with a slogan saying “America's first portable information device” he seems to be happy and relaxing so creates a positive representation of newspapers. The next photo has a slogan saying that more people will read a newspaper than watch a big game with an image of a rugby ball covered in newspaper which relates to the slogan.
3. Poster Research This poster for the Shropshire star is very basic with a prominent image. The poster says that they sponsor the RAF air show so the image of the newspaper folded into a paper aeroplane incorporates both the newspaper and the sponsor. The use of colour seems to be plain and muted with just black and white, this is made up for by the statement image placed in the centre of the poster. I think that this poster is effective as the slogan matches the image in a more creative way using both animated and photographed images, with a hand ‘grabbing’ several images shown to be the ‘best bits of London’ I like this poster and feel that it would attract a wide audience due to its use of bright colour and wide selection of images. This poster is different to the previous ones I have researched as it has no images just text. The text is displayed around the shape of what seems to be a corner of a sports pitch with green text about that subject around it. The rest of the text is vibrant and colourful to make the poster stand out and catch your eye. I feel that even without the image that this poster is effective due to its different layout and style.
4. Poster Research I think that this poster is one of the most effective from my research. I like the bold text that is applied to the faded images in the background making it stand out more because of its vibrant colour against the more faded back ground. I like the use of images on this poster , having different front covers from the newspaper as the background makes the poster instantly recognisable as a newspaper poster. This advert is subtle yet effective. The image is the most prominent part of this as there is barely any text. The image shows a line of ballet dancers, one holding a newspaper, this draws your attention to the newspaper to see what it is about, this is explained in the corner of the poster which tells you what is being advertised.
