2. Our Mission At CTMS
Our mission is to provide a carefully planned, stimulating
environment in which children can develop a solid foundation
and love of learning, using the Montessori Method.
Be Gentle…Be Kind…Be Safe…

2013 Expenditures $556,469
CTMS’s annual financial statements
are audited by a CPA. These charts
illustrate the 2013 operating income
and expenses by major categories.
This year we were able to put $28,325
away in our reserve fund.
5. A closer look at Tuition
days per week
$641,894 $482,702 $137,864 $21,328
6. What does the Material Fee Cover?
The Material Fee gives each
classroom an allotted amount to
purchase expendable supplies that
will be used throughout the
school year. As you can see this
fee only covers about half of what
we invest in classroom
consumables each year.
7. Facilities Update
During this year we…
invested almost $60,000 in security upgrades
received a $100,000.00 grant from the State of CT which
enabled us to purchase the property and buildings
fenced in the field and began to create an outdoor play
space.
purchased $30,000 in new classroom materials
8. Accreditation Update
As many of you know we are in the process of a dual accreditation
with CT Association of Independent School and The American
Montessori Society.
We just found out that our March visit has been postponed and we
will now be hosting the AMS site visit team in the fall and the CAIS
site visit team in the winter.
We are looking for more people to help with this project. We are still
writing several standards, need to collect more data, proof and edit
what we have already done, gather supporting documents, create
the final documents and help planning for the visiting team. If you
are interested please talk to Marci or Nicole.
9. Planning for the Future
During the accreditation process we have learned so much
about ourselves which has lead us create a strategic vision plan.
As a staff, we’ve begun to develop this plan but recognize that
we need to solicited your impute so that we have a shared vision
with common goals. This will allow us all to be equally invested
and responsible to carry out our hopes and dreams for the future.
One of the questions that has been weighing heavily is how to
grow the elementary program.
10. Please take a few minutes to
answer these questions.
1. What do we do well?
2. Where can we improve?
3. What are your hopes and dreams for CTMS?
4. What grade/age do you want CTMS to go until?
5. What can you do to help us grow?
