2. Confirmation Bias

Confirmation bias is a tendency for individuals to support data that affirms their assumptions
or theories paying a little respect to whether the data is correct. I accept everybody in this
world will be or has been encountered event in their routine beyond any doubt. Everybody sure
will have their conviction and they battle for it despite the fact that the people that are around
him/her have told that we are in the wrong way, yet in any case we stick to our convictions.
Because of this bias, now and then we will result in a battle or uncomfortable circumstance
between our buddy zones. Case in point, today I had dated my companions by trying for a
motion picture after our classes. Nonetheless, because of my class finished earlier so that I
chose went to Sunway Pyramid first with one of my fellow friends, Fedrick. We had our
appealing lunch there and held up for the others at Starbucks. When the time struck at 3, I
made a telephone call to one of my friends, Jack. Out of nowhere, I got answer that I did not
incline toward that enough because that Jack let me know that the sum of my companions had
drop the film day in view of they were eager to hurry their assignments.
I did not believe any single expressions of what Jack said because that we only set the
arrangement promptly in the morning. I might not buy that they could alter their opinion in the
brief time of time. I rejected the information and persist to wait for their arrival. Following 30
minutes, we were all the while holding up at Starbucks until a telephone call has arrived.
“Ring………. Ring…….. Ring……….”

3. “Hello, hey where u all? Me and Fedrick are waiting here for almost 2 hours”
“Sorry CY(my nickname), we cannot make it today, because we decided to rush our works today”
“What?!!! Are u kidding me? Now only you tell us this, why not you tell us earlier so we will not
waste our time this much”
“I thought Jack has already told you, but you don’t trust what he said”
“Okay then nevermind, it’s okay, you all go for work, see you, bye”
If I had trusted what Jack let me know prior, we might not squander our imperative time like
that much; we could choose what to do or about-face home earlier. Holding up at there like a
dead gentleman made me felt truly pissed off at that minute. Despite the fact that I was
desperate, I might at present did not accuse my buddies because that I comprehended that
lives up to expectations were more significant than diversion.
At last, we were only constrained yet to go home without any rewards.

Companions are essential in our life. However, in the event that we make a wrong companion
then he/she will be our disservices. Companions can battle with us through our issues and offer
the bliss together. In some cases, we will ensure our companions through our affirmation
predisposition either despite the fact that they are doing something wrong behind us; we will at
present do not put any uncertainty on them.
Today, at long last I knew whom the one uncovered my mystery to my pack of companions.
Right away, around the end of November of a year ago, I advised a mystery to two of my
siblings, Mr. A and Mr. B. I let them know not as a result of the relationship between us was
stronger than the others. It was because just they were in different courses with us so I felt that
it might be more secure the mystery might not uncover to people in general.
On March of this year, Mr.A told me that the secret seemed like had been revealed to my gang
of friends. I was wondering how the secret would be spitted to them because there was only
three persons knew it, Mr.A, Mr. B and me. That was impossible the secret would be shared to
them. By that time, I confirmed my mind that this just a rumor because I was pretty sure and
trusted they would not tell to the others.
Until today, I attempted to ask all from my mates that how they knew the mystery. They did
not will to let me know at the starting. After my few compelling, I had finally figured out that
the one to uncover my mystery, was Mr.B. I was completely dazed by that and could not take

5. that was the actuality. I put that much certainty and trusted on Mr.B, but he truly had
frustrated and harmed me as a blade infix to my heart.
Indeed, Mr.B had imparted to them immediately after a few days that he knew the mystery. I
was damn pissed-off by asking myself for what reason I was that credulous by believing him so
much and how he sell out me. When I knew the reality, I truly needed to discover and whip him
to the extent that I will yet when I was reminding those magnificent minutes that we used to
together, I loosed myself straight after and chose to give it a chance to went. Then again, I
might never treat him in the same class as previously this, and we would most likely not be the
best pal like last time any longer.
Confirmation biases contribute to overconfidence in personal beliefs and can maintain or
strengthen beliefs in the face of contrary evidence. Hence they can lead to disastrous decisions.

6. Motivation
28/2/14
Motivation was characterized as the process that commences; expresses and upholds
objectively situated practices. It was a desire to a person willing to do things. However, it had
two types of motivation that were intrinsic and extrinsic. For this entry, I would like to talk
about intrinsic motivation, and the latter would be stated in the next entry.
Intrinsic motivation occurred when we acted without any obvious external rewards as praises,
respect, results, and the like. Rather than these, we only enjoyed an activity or took it as an
opportunity to explore, learn and actualize our potentials.
Today, only I realized that I had gone through gym life for over one year. However, I would go
to gym no matter how busy I was, whether I was going alone or with my gym partner or even a
day was no any class yet I would still come to the school for the purpose of gym for all the way
from my house for a 20-minutes drive. From the beginning, there was no one forced me to gym
just I would like kept on advancing my body in order to get my ideal body shape.
Gym had ended up parts of my life, and the gymnasium centre could be represented as my
second dwelling. I go for it as my daily routine and the feeling of joy, discharge, freedom and
fulfillment significantly more spurred me by letting it all out.

7. 19/4/14
In one day of Psychology class, lecturer thought us one of topics called “Extrinsic Motivation”,
that matter could easily reflect my today’s action.
I was informed by lecturer of Public Communication that we will be having a test next
Wednesday. The first thing that appeared on my mind was “What I had studied in this subject, I
have no idea what is about it”. Luckily, lecturer gave all the clues for us what coming out on
exam then I just studied those which will come out is.
However, although I did not know what I had studied about yet I still kept studying and
memorizing those keywords so it could help me answer well for the upcoming exam. Honestly, I
did not like this subject but to make sure that I could get a higher grade thus I would force
myself to study as much as I can. Lastly, I sincerely believed that this will happen mostly for all
students in education career due to their extrinsic motivation in order for them to get an
excellent grade.

8. Persuasion
7/4/14
Today, lecturer taught us topic about “Persuasion”. Then, this reminded me of the ways how I
persuaded my friends developed exercise habit as their daily routine life. All of my friends knew
that I had transformed from a massive fat guy to a standard fit-sized. Every time when my
friends looked on my Identity Card’s pictures, they surely would get shocked out of nowhere.
After that, they would start asking me the ways of losing fats then I shared my experiences
directly without any hesitation.
One of my friends, Fedrick is currently too over-weighted, and I was in considerable for his
health. Like the old time, I tried to persuade him go to the gym as his daily routine so that he
could lose his weight as much as possible. He had asked me for assistance by helping him to
lose weight since the first day I knew him. However due to his voracious mouth, he always
could not stop eating and ignore the foods he loved. Therefore, I always found myself hard to
help him.
In the course of time, I could not put up with him anymore and tell him the consequences of
overweight. I motivated him using a picture showed that a guy encountered almost the same
situation with him before that but then he turned to become slim and fit guy. After a moment
he saw that, Fedrick made up his mind by registering as a member, and he went to gym every
day until now.

9. 11/4/14
In today’s economic class, Mr. Joe announced that our subject combinations trip, 3E trip which
involved Effective Public Communication, English and Economics would be held on Penang in
16th of May until 18th of May. Under without any consideration, I was easily persuaded by the
trip through both central and peripheral route.
Through central course, we might require to investigate a few organizations that evolved at
Penang by doing our research assignment at the first point. Secondly, the value offered was not
that substantial and it was competitive contrasted to those values we got from travel
organizations. It was aggregate Rm150 for three days two night of lodging and even breakfast
will be given. On the flip side, I had dependably been pulled into its restricted foods such as
Asam Laksa, Char Kuey Teow, Ais Kacang and many more. Penang food was truly Pearl of the
Orient, and that was the reason numerous Malaysians barely strike an eyelash at the prospect
of making the trek up to Penang to get those mouth-watering meals. Moreover, this time would
doubtlessly be a pleasant outing regarded all my friends had also decided by having a trip there.
In the end, I had simple been convinced by the offer and set my choice without any qualm.
Summary, Persuasion attempts to influence others’ attitudes or behaviors through central and
peripheral route.

10. Prosocial Behavior
21/4/14
In my opinion, I sincerely believed that men must possess with personality traits of the
gentleman. First and foremost, men must behave comity in front of women no matter in what
kind of situation most of the time but not anytime. It depended on the conditions. However, I
would still lend out my hand by helping my ladies’ friends between my capacity ranges. For
instance, I would straight request by offering my assistance to carry their belongings if they felt
uncomfortable or too much for them to bear with it. When a group of friends was walking, had
those female friends who were walking slow, doing something at the back or being attracted by
some items than they would wander away with the bond. Therefore, I would always be the one
who strolled at the last by protecting and giving a sight for them to ensure their security. Then,
sometimes we stayed back at school to do our assignments; by the time we had done our task
was already in the middle of the night. In order to guarantee their protection, I would
accompany them together by walking back to their hostel or car without any scruples. No
matter what genders of my friends, I surely would help them out if they were facing a hardship.
This was because I believed that this was our fate by becoming friends in these seldom
opportunities in our life. Thus, I would appreciate every single of friends using my slogan “make
more friends, reduce more enemies”.
In front of my friends or ladies, I mostly would act as an altruistic model. I dedicated my
assistance was not to get a good impression from ladies or had their intention. All of it is
because of I appreciated these kind of relationship very much, and I sincerely wished it could be

11. last longer. Lastly, all of this I can relate to today’s topic that I learnt at Social Psychology class,
which was Prosocial Behaviour. It was entirely came to my mind while Mr. Shankar was
explaining the whole idea about it.

12. Social Facilitiation
17/2/14
Today was our second of lecture class for subject Social Psychology and the first topic “What is
Social Psychology” had been taught. Our lecturer, Mr. Shankar briefly introduced us what was
the subject tried to present about. We were then discussing a concept called “Social
Facilitiation”. This concept was defined as a change in execution processed by the simple
vicinity of others. Overall, this could only be understood that our performance can be boosted
in the presence of others. After that, my brain showed up an articulation was that I completely
concurred with this idea in that scratch of time and I discovered truly no wrong for it.
For my evaluation, these surely would take place most of any time in our life. Example, in the
group member’s viewpoint, no matter the situation was in sport, assignment or group activity,
we would aim our best to execute well in order to gain trust, confidence and credits from our
fellow members by trying to let them know the criticalness of us. For example in a football
match, as a striker, I would indicate great collaboration with my teammates and find the
opportunity to score only could secure a win for my team. At the other perspective, men would
always carry out something impressive in front of women so that men could easily been
electrified by women. These scenes mostly happened at gym center, when the territory of
where was bunch of beautiful ladies there, guys most likely would purposely show off there and
demonstrate their “power” by lifting heavier weights in front of them sequentially to astound
the ladies. However, this could happen despite the fact that to those slimy guys that they could
lift heavy weights out of nowhere in that situation.

13. Finally, I found that “Social Facilitiation”
somehow could arouse someone’s buried
personality by showing impossible actions as
they could not even expect by themselves.
