Prejudice and Stereotype
Prejudice and stereotyping others is what we often see in our social nowadays, the most of us
will judge others by their first impressions or even stereotyping them just because they are
not one of them or they have different culture. There are a lot of cases in the social now for
example in America the policemen will check the black guys while they are walking in street
even though they are innocent. This brought up lots of arguments making stereotyping and
prejudice more famous and because of this a lot people start to prejudice or stereotype others.
There is also a lot of ways to prevent this is that to make them know each other first this will
make them notice that they are actually not like what they thought, making friends does not
need to see who they are.

Design and concept
Our concept of the café is to make people who come in to our café and the feel free and
without pressure and are here to make friends no matter who they are. So we will design the
place to let people are easier to communicate and making friends easily. In the café we will
also make sure that we didn’t stereotype others as well as prejudice so making everyone the
same in the café. The worker will also be chosen by the ability of them not by races or
anything else so it is fair for them. We will always try to convey others how bad stereotyping
and prejudice is and so it will make them feels good to make more friends without caring
who they are. So here is the way we try to put the concept into the design of the café.

 Organization of the tables
The organization of the table is making it like a ‘s’ shape because while they sit down
they will be facing each other and they will eventually starting to make friends. The
design of the tables is to make the people sit randomly so that they can know more people
not just from their comfort zone. As they will be randomly seated they will not care about
what the others culture or races they are and they will start talking to each other.
 Chairs
The chair is placed closely to each other so they can talk to each other more comfortably
and more happily as they will not disturb others while they are having conversation. This
will make them easier to communicate while waiting for the coffee and so on. This also
can make them to have more interaction while they are enjoying their foods and drinks.
 The windows
The building is mainly glass and wood because it is to make customers feel lively the
café. Meanwhile the windows will also let the sunlight shine into the café and this will
make the customers feel more freely and without the pressures they can communicate
more happily.
 Plants in the café
There will be lots of plants in the café this is also because we want to make the café more
lively and fresh. This will make the full use of the free space in the café and also making

the customers feel fresh. Planting the plants in the interior of a building will also help to
produce a better air and to beautify the café with the plants.
 Bar table/ cashier
The bar is the place where we bake the cakes and also cook our coffee .we will hire
different races of people to work here this is to reduce the phenomenon of prejudice and
also stereotype. We will also show the cakes under the bar table which framed by glass to
let the customers to have a look on how the cakes look like. Here is also the place where
they pay their bill too.
 Drawings
We will be hanging the drawing around the wall of the café, the drawing is all about say
no to stereotyping and prejudice this is for the customers to feel that there is no different
between humans. Every drawing will carry a different message in it so the drawings will
show the negativity of stereotype and prejudice.
 Location
The location of our café will be in the middle of the city where everyone can come in and
we will choose the place that has a lot of culture and races there so everyone there can see
the negativity of prejudice and stereotype and also that it will spread out rapidly as this in
the middle of a busy city
