WHAT IS REQUIRED OF THE PEOPLE RUNNING They understand what is required of them once they get elected(next slide) They are truly interested in both YCO and China. They want to serve for two years (unless they’re graduating). They are responsible.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF THE ELECTED OFFICERS Recommended: They go to Henan, China for the service trip(more information on that later) Mandatory: They go to 3 outings in the next 6 months They are truly interested in making the club better They are willing to lead and/or take on roles
WHY 2 YEARS?YCO’s elections are for TWO YEARS because we wantCONTINUITY and SUSTAINABILITY.However, there is a VERY BIG CHANCE (hint hint) that we willopen more officer positions NEXT YEAR (2012-2013)

DEEPTI VARATHAN, 10As treasurer, I can contributeexperience and ideas. As this is anew club, I think having a coupleof people who have experience isessential. As treasurer of anotherclub, I not only know how to dothe job, but I can contributeessential ideas to help it runsmoothly.
KITTY LALWANI, 9I am very good with numbers andmoney in general. When I wasyounger one of the mathassignments was where you had acheck book to buy things in classwith and at the end of the year youhad to balance the checkbook.Mine was balanced perfectly.
CHRIS PANG, 9I am the best candidate fortreasurer for many reasons. One isI’m a good techie. I plan to keepall receipts and expendituresaccounted for digitally on mycomputer. And the main reason isthat I love money. And no moneywill be going anywhere without mypermission.

WHO CAN VOTE?Anyone enrolled (as of January 15) either in HS Youth CommunityOutreach (Blackboard) or Youth Community Outreach (Facebook)can vote.Candidates may bring their friends to support and cheer them on.They/their friends can also encourage other members to vote forthem. However, their friends (if not enrolled) can’t physically vote.
