The document discusses three masthead designs for a music label. Design one uses bright colors like yellow and orange with arrows pointing forward to symbolize hope and moving forward. Design two uses blues to symbolize the hard times artists have experienced and their bold personalities. Design three uses dark colors to convey the hard lives artists lead and the title "Undiscovered" to symbolize how people may stereotype them without listening to their music.
5. Reflection/analysis
For design one my aim was to make a masthead that communicated that the artists who would be signed to this label
have hope with the bright citrus colours such as yellow and orange aswell as the arrows pointing forwards symbolising
they will be able to move forward with this magazine. The bold outline is supposed to convey that all the people that
would be signed to this label are strong and big characters.
For design two my aim was to make a masthead which symbolised the hard times (the blues) in which the artists which
would be signed have gone through and the hard life's in which they lead. Again I have chosen to use the bold outline as
I feel it is important for a grime artist to be a bold person with lots of strong thoughts.
Finally for design three my aim was to make a masthead which completely conveys the hard life's in which they lead
with dark/sad colouring being used. I have used the title “Undiscovered” with this colouring to symbolise that people
may not give them a chance and stereotype them straight away without listening to their music.
