2. Grime Daily firstly has the dark
background linking to dark thoughts and
that a lot of the rappers/grime artists are
living hard life's or have lived hard life's.
Secondly the orange links to happy
thoughts and also bright things such as
the sun so we could interpret this
masthead as this is the hope and that
this is the way out of the dark bad times
for the rappers
3. UK Over stood masthead
UK Over stood has the small dark writing
which may infer it as the artists being
insignificant but the white background
with the arrow pointing forward may
symbolise hope for the artisists.
4. The orange background is a citrus colour
which may show hope their is hope for
these young rappers and with link up TV
being in shining white writing this may
infer that this is the hope and their
chance.
5. This masthead is the one that
proves the rule as although it is
similar to the other mastheads it
doesn't have any dark bits on it so
this may symbolise that it isn't hope
if they are signed to this they are
going to have already made it
6. What I have learned from this exercise
What I have learned is that most of the mastheads use dark colours with
bright colours to try and emphasise the fact that there is hope for these artists
despite the fact they are currently living hard life's. There is other conventions
which are overlapped in all the mastheads including bold outlining to show
their big characters. Also they use all use bright colours whether it be white,
yellow or orange.
How this will influence my work is that I will use bold outlines to convey that
they are strong people but may be misunderstood. Secondly I will use bright
colours to convey there is hope for these artists
