Analyzing the Curriculum, for our course. Each question is worth 2 points for a
total of 20 points. You must answer all question completely to earn the points.
1. Title of textbook: Analyzing The Curriculum
2. Write two questions that the title suggests.
1.What type of curriculum will we be analyzing through this course?
2. How exactly will we be analyzing this curriculum?
3. Date Published: 2004 Why is this information significant?
I believe that the most recent information is very important as well as using some
of the old curriculum and truly analyzing what works and how it is that it works.
4. Write three chapter headings as questions:
1. What is the curriculum purpose and content using the basic concepts?
2. 2 What exactly are the Frame factors and all the basic concepts?
3.How are we supposed to evaluate the curriculum and its basic concepts?
6. Explain how the subject and name indexes and bibliography can be important
to you.
The subject and indexes names help by narrowing down what exactly it is that we
are going to be reading over as well as studying. The bibliography is important
because it list all the contributors to this book and if we need to look more in
depth to something or find a topic more interesting than others we will know
where the brief information came from.
7. Describetwo of the most appealing pictures, charts, or graphs and the
reasoning behind your choices. Tell the page number too.
1. The table on page 98,”A traditional Plan for Education, Grades K-8,” really
catches my attention because everything is broken up in a certain way to
understand not only what type of curriculum should be learned but how it is
that it should be analyzed at the specific grade level.
2.The picture of on page 231, shows how a teacher in an elementary classroom
is sitting down in a group paying close attention to what one of her students is saying.
The setting seems to pretty outdated just by the style of the clothes, so I do not know
how valuable this may be.

10. Reflection: What have you learned about studying a textbook and
specifically this one? Why is it important to have students complete this
activity at the beginning of the course? (1-2 paragraphs—50-75 words)
There are loads of valuable information in textbooks and they focus on going into
depth with studies from various people and research. This book has tons of
valuable information about what has been used in education and what will be
used in the future. How well everything is broken up and why it is broken up the
way it is. It not only demonstrates all the information in text but also with charts,
graphs, and even some pictures.
I think it is important to do this activity at the beginning of the course that way the
students get a feel for the type of material that they will be working with during
the semester.
