Festival of Faith will takes place this week in Sligo lead by members of the Ember
Team. Information Booklet is now available at the Church Bookstand, back or side
door. Please take a programme home after Mass. Our parish will be involved in the

Garden of Resurrection – Visit and Pray
Our Easter Garden of Resurrection is at the front of the altar. It celebrates the
message of Easter – the reality the cross is not the end but a new beginning. Our
garden of life reminds us of the Resurrection and the importance of recognising the
risen Lord on the road of life. This week let us pray for peace in our hearts and for a
deeper faith in God.
Parish Information
We are continuing to work on the new history book of our Parish. This book will
reflect the wide history of our community, Church, School, G.A.A., Holy Well and
beyond. If you have old photographs from parish or school events, please contact the
Parish office. All photographs will be returned. Also, historical stories, folklore, or
reflections on the parish and wider community in the past would be very helpful.
Festival of Faith
This week we are invited to take part in the Festival of faith in the Sligo area. Various
events will take place in our Churches and at three historical sites which includes the
Holy Well on Tuesday next 20th
May at 3:30pm. The week will be lead by members of
the Ember team. Look out for the caravan which will move around the cluster. Also,
the petition book which is part of the week of prayer and Unit 19 in Johnston Court
which is open to all visitors. This week the invitation is to come away for a few days
from the economy, elections and government and find some hope in the presence of
Jesus in our lives. The theme for the week is out and about for Jesus. Brochures
available at the back and side door of our Church. Envelopes to support costs for the
week are also available at the back and side door. Your support is appreciated.
Prayer and Praise
A day of prayer and praise will take place in the Knights of Columbanus Centre on
Sunday 25th
May beginning at 3:00pm. Information from Ursula Troddyn

Divine Mercy
Novena to the Divine Mercy takes place every Friday in Carraroe Church beginning
at 3:00pm. All are welcome to attend.
Bereaved
Please remember in your prayers the soul of Noel Browne, Glencar and Letterkenny,
mother of Gabriel Browne, Tonaphubble, whose funeral took place last week.
Parish Baptisms
Congratulation to Edel and Stephen Carty, Tonaphubble and we welcome Leah Clare

Baptism course for all who are preparing for Baptism takes place on the third
Thursday of each month in the Family Life Centre, Church Hill, Sligo. Contact the

Tobernalt Holy Well
ON Tuesday 20th
May we are invited to make a special effort to visit the Holy Well as
part of the Festival of Faith Week in Sligo. The afternoon will be made up of a short
history of the Holy Well, Music and reflections.
Trocaire Appeal – Return your Contribution
Please return your Trocaire box or envelop this week. You can put a contribution in
an envelope and mark it “Trocaire”. Thank you to all who have returned the box or
envelope.
Baptism/ Confirmation Certificates
Due to demand a request for Baptism/ Confirmation Certificates normally takes up to
one week. Normal donation is €10.
Vocations to Diocesan Priesthood
The Elphin Diocese is now accepting enquires from prospective men who
may wish to join Diocesan Priesthood in our Diocese. Further information
from our Diocesan Vocation Director, Fr. Jim Murray. The new study year
for students begins in August.

The Sligo Co Fleadh takes place in Riverstown on the June Bank holiday
weekend (Fri May 30- Sun June 1). Trad Concert Fri 9pm in Community Hall,
outdoor Céilís on Sat & Sun 9pm in the Diamond. Competitions all day Sat & Sun.
The Vintage Day (national event) in Riverstown on Sat 1 June is a day out for all the
