2. INTRODUCTION
I began by researching into the different Horror TV
programs which are aired on television every week. The three
Horror TV programs that I researched into were American
Horror Story, The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead.
From researching into these, it showed me that all three are
very popular; especially within the teenager/young adult
audience.
3. AMERICAN HORROR STORY
The results from my research into the this Horror television
program, showed that throughout the 4 years that it has been
aired, the higher the amount of viewers got. For example, the
first episode had a total of 3.18 million viewers, where as the
fourth episode had a total of 6.17 million. This showed that
this type of genre is very popular, and appears to get more
popular as more episodes are made.
4. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
The results from my research showed that The Vampire Diaries
has been the longest airing Horror television program out of
all 3 examples which I chose to research into. When
researching into the amount of viewers this program has had,
it showed that when it first began to air it had a total of 3.66
million viewers. But looking at the most recent episodes
viewers, it has dropped down to 2.68 million.
5. THE WALKING DEAD
The first season aired at a time of 10pm, and it appeared that
because it was aired this late not many people watched it at
first. The time was then changed to 9pm the following
seasons and the amount of viewers rose every season. The
highest amount of viewers it has reached is 15,680.
