INDIAN FACE
INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK rose over 1 percent to a record
high as blue-chips such as ICICI Bank surged after Prime
Minister Narendra Modi vowed to fire up the bureaucracy to
deliver results, while easing wholesale inflation also helped.
Further, Tata Motors DVR jumped 5.6 percent after a report in
the Times of India newspaper that Indian exchanges may
consider admitting such shares on their benchmark indexes.
Jubilant Foodworks gained 6.2 percent after Bank of America
Merrill Lynch started coverage with a buy rating and a target
price of 1,375 rupees, saying the company is in a "sweet spot"
in the large and high-growth quick service restaurants
market.
GLOBAL FACE
Asian stock markets stalled and the dollar sagged against the
safe-haven yen on Monday, as another bout of tensions in the
Ukrainian conflict sapped investor confidence.
European stocks market sharply higher, as expectations for
fresh easing measures by the European Central Bank boosted
demand for European equities.
U.S. stocks market set to storm on as EU yields drop, conflicts
threaten.

MARKET TALKS
BPCL and IOC were up 6-7 percent while even OIL and ONGC
gained 3 percent each intraday on Monday as Brent Crude October
Futures was down 0.8 percent at USD 102.7 per barrel.
ITC slips on buzz of anti-tobacco
laws
Shares of ITC is trading lower by nearly 2.4% in otherwise firm
market on concerns of cigarette business may decline due to recent
price hike. Cigarettes business accounted about 41% of total
revenue of ITC. According to reports the Centre is planning to
introduce tougher provisions under law to curb tobacco
consumption in the country.
Reliance Capital Q1 net profit at
Rs1640 mn
Reliance Capital Ltd has posted a profit after taxes, minority interest
and share of profit / (loss) of associates of Rs. 1640 mn for the
quarter ended June 30, 2014 as compared to Rs. 1330 mn for the
quarter ended June 30, 2013. Total Income has increased from Rs.
19380 mn for the quarter ended June 30, 2013 to Rs. 21440 mn for
the quarter ended June 30, 2014.
Tata Power jumps 4%, MERC grants
25-yr distribution licence
Shares of Tata Power jumped over 4 percent intraday. Investors are
celebrating as state electricity regulator Maharashtra Electricity
Regulatory Commission (MERC) has granted 25 years distribution
licence to Tata Power for supplying power in city and suburban
areas. Tata Power has a consumer base of five lakh in Mumbai of
which nearly 65 percent are those consuming below 300 units per
month.
Tata Motors jumps 3% on JLR July
sales; Macquarie bullish
Shares of Tata Motors jumped 3 percent riding on its Jaguar Land
Rover July sales number. The luxury car business sold 39467 units
(up 12.2 percent) as compared to 35162 units in the same period
last fiscal. The stock has been on buyers’ radar after its April-June
quarter spectacular performance. Macquarie maintains an
outperform rating on the stock with a target of Rs 540 per share.
