INDIAN FACE
INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK ended at one-month lows following the expiry of September derivative contracts weighed down by oil shares after the government deferred its decision on gas pricing till November 15. Further, metal and bank shares also witnessed selling pressure after the Supreme Court's verdict on coal block allocations.
Further, Reliance Industries and ONGC ended down over 3.3% each after the government deferred its decision on gas pricing till November 15.
Reliance Industries is reportedly planning to raise $800 mn from Korea Exim.
GLOBAL FACE
Asian stock market rose, led by solid gains in Japan after the dollar rose to a fresh six-year high against the yen.
European stocks were higher, as speculation over the possibility of additional easing measures by the European Central Bank lent support.
U.S. stocks market rallied on news that new homes in the U.S. far surpassed expectations, giving investors hope the economy will improve and boost corporate top lines down the road.

Aban Offshore slips over 16% on profit taking
Aban Offshore slipped over 16% continuing its downtrend seen over the past five trading sessions. Last week, the company has started its plans to raise around $500 million by listing its Singapore subsidiary. The fund mobilised would be used to repay part of its debt, which is currently around Rs 14,000 crore.
ONGC slips 4% on gas price hike deferral, BoAML cuts EPS
Shares of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation fell as much as 3.65 percent after Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) deferred its decision on gas price hike again. The Cabinet has deferred decision on gas pricing. The decision on gas pricing will be taken before November 15.
State-owned banks came under pressure
State-owned banks came under pressure on account of quality assets concerns on account of their advances to companies whose coal block allocations have been cancelled. Banking sector has exposure of 8.8% of non-food credit to the power sector. Cancellation of allotted coal blocks to projects will adversely impact the chances of recovery of these loans.
Strides Arcolab tanks on final settlement with Mylan
Shares of Strides Arcolab slipped over 10%, after the company said it agreed to receive $150 million as the full and final settlement from US-based Mylan Inc. The Company will provide further updates on or before October 07, 2014.
