INDIAN FACE
INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK rose for a fourth consecutive
session to its highest close in nearly two-and-a-half weeks.
India’s wholesale price (WPI) inflation eased to a five-month
low in July, helped by a moderation in fuel costs. The WPI rose
5.19% year-on-year last month, its slowest pace since
February. In June, prices rose 5.43% from a year earlier.
Further, ONGC first quarter net profit rising 19 percent year-
on-year to Rs 4,782 crore impacted by higher exploration cost
written off and depreciation cost
Financial Technologies has announced the results for the
quarter ended June 30, 2014 net profit of the company rose
by 57.92% to Rs128.25 crore Vs Rs81.21 crore YoY.
GLOBAL FACE
Asian stock markets gained, with Japan leading the region up
and investors digesting heavy earnings news out of Hong
Kong and Australia
European stocks market were mostly lower, as downbeat
economic growth readings from Germany and France weighed
on market sentiment.
U.S. stocks market rising on a rally in the biotech sector send
broader despite a weaker-than-expected report on retail sales.

MARKET TALKS
June 30, 2014 net profit of the company rose by 6.51% to Rs
128.84 crore Vs Rs 120.96 crore YoY. Total Income increased by
7% to Rs 1456.94 crore Vs Rs 1361.56 crore YoY.
Voltas jumps after strong Q1 results
Voltas surged 7.58% to Rs 219.15 after consolidated net profit
jumped 165.85% to Rs 109 crore on 9.36% growth in sales to Rs
1752 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013. Voltas' operating
profit (profit before exceptional items & tax) jumped 143.33% to Rs
146 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013.
July inflation at 5.19%, May nos
revised higher
The July wholesale price inflation (WPI) came in at 5.19 percent
The 2013 July wholesale price inflation stood higher at 5.85
percent. Alongside, the government has revised May inflation
numbers higher at 6.18 percent, marking it the third revision of
prices in recent months.
Hindalco Q1 profit drops 31% on
high fuel, finance cost
Hindalco Industries missed street expectations with the first quarter
net profit falling 30.9 percent year-on-year to Rs 327.5 crore dented
by higher power and fuel, finance, and raw material costs. Profit in
the corresponding quarter of last fiscal was Rs 474.1 crore. The
profit base was also high in Q1FY14 due to other income, which
included non-recurring income of Rs 203 crore
PFC Q1 net profit up 21% YoY
PFC has announced the Standalone results for the quarter ended
June 30, 2014 net profit of the company rose by 20.86% to Rs
1448.26 crore Vs Rs 1198.24 crore YoY. Total Income increased by
18.07% to Rs 5923.90 crore Vs Rs 5017.10 crore YoY.
