Elements Of The Classical And Behavioral Philosophies Of...
Article: McDonald's need for speed inside CEO Steve Easterbrook's bold strategy to transform the fast–food giant.
In today's world, we are being surrounded by various organizations. However, each organization has its way of being managed. In fact, this is shown in
the various roles managers play within their organization. We can examine this through two different managerial theories, notably the classical school of
management and the behavioral school of management. Moreover, the article given in this assignment concerns the McDonald's business. Keeping in
mind the two managerial philosophies, I will thus examine, and explain how McDonald's uses elements of the classical and behavioral approaches to
management, as well as state my opinion on which approach I believe the company is better off with.
MCDONALD'S AND THE CLASSICAL APPROACH.
McDonald's is a fast food restaurant available in different places of the world. In fact, the fast food chain, is well known worldwide and has had
much success. Upon looking at the first stream of the classical approach; scientific management, developed by Frederick Taylor, we can see that
McDonald's in fact does standardize the work that they do. According to Taylor, this method "allows the company to move efficiently". In your typical
McDonald's everyone occupies different roles such as a chef, food testers, managers, cashiers, cooks, supervisors, cleaners etc. In fact from Fayol's
administrative point, McDonald's possessed great team

4 Elements the Wars Essay
The Wars: Four Elements It was the ancient Greek philosopher, Empedocles, who first established the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. He also
stated that everything in the world is structured by and rooted in these four elements. However during times of conflict and violence, humans begin to
disturb this harmony. When this happens, the elements stop representing life and start representing a form of destruction. Throughout Robert Ross's
journey in The Wars, Timothy Findley exemplifies this theory by displaying the four elements in two diverse ways: benevolent and harmful. Earth is
said to be the feminine element. It is perceived to be nurturing, stable, and full of endurance. The planet itself is a ball of life in which one is... Show

This comes to no surprise. Like water, life is subject to change. Like water, life is shaped by the places it exists in: the earth, the environment, and
the ecosystems. Throughout his voyage, Robert Ross finds himself in the presence of snow numerous times. For instance, it snows during Rowena's
funeral, "All the time the minister eulogized and all the time they prayed, it snowed" (Finley 18) Robert also stands in the snow at the train station,
much like Mrs. Ross let the snow beat down on her face. Each of these events marks a point of permanent change. Everyone is able to imagine the
scene where the hero looks down and the town below him is awash in flames. Fire is the agent of destruction; symbolism of both chaos and war.
Burning everything in its path, it brings nothing but devastation. "Fire storms raged along the front. Men were exploded where they stood – blown
apart by the combustion" (Findley 137) Staying true to this depiction, fire takes the lives of many during the war, including Robert himself. While
trying to save the horses, Roberts get caught in the barn and the roof "went up in seconds like a tinder box." (Finley 212) Although the flames
claimed the lives of many, at times they also helped give Robert peace at mind. During Robert's stay at Desole, he receives his kit bag which includes
a picture of Rowena. He decides to burn the picture and it is

Classical Elements In John Tennyson's Ulysses
Classical elements refer to ancient beliefs inspired by natural observation of the phases of matter; with the classical elements: earth is equivalent to
solid, water is equivalent to liquid, air is equivalent to gas and fire is equivalent to plasma. Historians trace the evolution of modern theory pertaining to
the chemical elements, as well as chemical compounds and mixtures of natural substances to medieval, and Greek models.
"Ulysses" details Ulysses' intense dissatisfaction and boredom on his island home of Ithaca. The poem is a monologue spoken by him, where he not
only expresses his discontent, but also describes his desire to keep sailing. He's getting older and doesn't have a lot of time left, so he wants to get
busy living rather than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Tennyson wants to drink life to the 'lees'. 'Lees' refers to the grosser part of the liquid that has settled at the bottom. The poet implies that he
gracefully welcomes old age with all the trials and tribulations it has to offer. All the elements in this poem are taken from Greek mythology. The poet
expresses his feelings through the character of Ulysses which is itself the major classical element. The environments, events and the adventures are
closely associated with classical elements.
Tennyson found much inspiration in the ancient worlds of Greece and Rome. Tennyson lived during a period of great scientific advancement, and he
used his poetry to work out the conflict between religious faith and scientific discoveries. Much of his verse was based on classical mythological
themes, such as Ulysses.
In "Ulysses", Tennyson uses the ancient voices and choices of Ulysses and his men to explore commitment to ideals and duty, inevitability and stasis,
death wishes, and dualism. The character of Ulysses (in Greek, Odysseus) has explored widely in literature. The adventures of Odysseus were first
recorded in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey (c. 800–700 BC), and Tennyson draws on Homer's narrative in the

Heraclitus Compare And Contrast
Opposition in Unity My interpretation of Heraclitus is the claim that opposites co–exist. To have an opposite means to have diametrically different
ideas, actions, or concepts. An example of opposites would be hot and cold; these are relative concept of temperature with cold being the absence of
heat(hot) and vice versa. What Heraclitus is claiming is that opposites can exist together simultaneously or in succession. This claim is suggested and
exemplified in fragments 55, 41, 59, and 61. A set of opposites that simultaneously co–exist are permeance and change. Heraclitus claims that "changing
it rests" (55). Examining this claim through physics the common example would be potential energy. While an object is at rest it holds this energy
called potential energy for its ability to change. When the object begins to move this potential energy changes to kinetic energy, the energy of motion.
While the object is at rest, or in permeance the object holds the ability to create energy and change. Furthermore, another example of permeance and
change that Heraclitus mentions directly is the river. Fragment 41 reads "we step into and we do not step into the same rivers". Step into a... Show more

That of a major key or a minor key. Major keys are composed by finding notes that agree with one another. Minor keys are different in that the key
brings two notes together that create dissonance. Dissonance is the opposite of harmony it is created by tension. Heraclitus says "... thought at
variance with itself, it agrees with itself" (61). Dissonance is used in minor keys as a different way of bringing notes together still creating harmony.
Minor keys are described as sad, or somber, because of the harmony the dissonance creates. Heraclitus is claiming is that this variance, while the notes
may not agree with each other, it creates a new agreement between the notes creating a new harmony. These opposites of harmony and dissonance and

The Ideas Of Victory Cities
A man named Orville Simpson II has an idea to build virtual utopias, called Victory Cities. (Simpson, 1998) They are designed as cities built in the
countryside, all connected through various types of transportation. There will be no crime, pollution, over population, or other everyday problems; it
will be a utopia. A utopia is a place where there are no problems like death, poverty, or crime. It is "perfect" world (Merriam–Webster.com) A Victory
City will have no everyday problems involved in it. Will Victory Cities be a successful utopia, or not?
One of the most important factors in a Victory City is the money system. Mr. Simpson's brilliantidea for the money system is having all citizens carry a
banknote around with them. When someone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are imaginative ideas for the residential areas, but it can have problems, such as some people being jealous of the people with larger
apartments. People today don't share apartments with strangers, making it a different system than our society, but I think it is still a great idea. It will
be a large part of a Victory City.
Another essential element in a Victory City is transportation. Withinthe city, there will be only two types of transportation: elevators, and small electric
cars. The high–speed elevators make it possible to move around a building, from one place to another, in only five to ten minutes. The electric cars
are very safe, even children can operate them, and they will prevent many accidents. Connecting Victory Cities will be larger electric cars and trains,
running through tunnels underground. The transportation system is quite different than our way, as we can choose between varieties of different
vehicles, and it is not allowed in a Victory City. I think it is a brilliant idea for the transportation in the city. Mr. Simpson's safe transportation system
will be a major part of the city.A fourth element in a Victory City will be a food system.

The Formative Elements Of Classical Scholarship
ROMANTICISM, WEIMAR CLASSICISM, STURM UND DRANG In this chapter, I consider the formative elements of classical scholarship; in
particular, how scholarship developed through this time period from something to be studied by elite amateurs to something formalised. What I
examine specifically is how the themes of elitism, mysticism, projection, and language were the defining paradigms of thought for Romantics. In later
chapters, these recurring themes will show themselves time and time again in scholarship, ultimately showing that Freud's psychoanalysis was an
evolution of existing ideology, not a revolutionary idea. Thus in order to understand how psychoanalysis became seen as a viable tool with which to
approach mythology one must examine the roots of western classical scholarship. During the Romantic era intellectual authority lay with the poets,
novelists, and playwrights. To understand how the scholarly community came to be so receptive to Freud it is key to examine how these paradigms
affected the respected views of myth and history – given by amateur historians and fop poets alike – in the Romantic era. ELITISM The Romantic
Movement was really only open to the privileged and wealthy. Schiller's early Romantic plays had many of the hallmarks of Romantic literature –
historical figures such as Joan of Arc and Mary Queen of Scots were lauded and personal freedom and broadly anarchist views were positively
expressed . However, the inherent classism in such Romantic

Key Elements Of Classical And Operant Conditioning
Behaviourist Theories
This essay examines behaviourist theories and discusses key elements of classical and operant conditioning. It considers a variety of psychological
theorists and profoundly explores their research.
Behaviourism is a psychological approach that explains human development as learning from experience rather than a result of inborn tendencies or
higher order thinking. (Moonie, 2006) The behaviourist movement began in 1913 when Watson wrote the article 'Psychology as the behaviourist views
it.' Additionally, Pavlov, Thorndike and Skinner worked to develop behavioural theories of learning. They suggest that all behaviour is learned either
through classical or operant conditioning. (Cardwell and Flanagan, 2012, p.50)
Thorndike's research offered valuable insights into conditioning. He studied the way animals learn through trial and error by observing their responses
in controlled conditions. For example, a hungry cat would experiment with methods of escaping from a cage to receive a reward of food. When the cat
discovered actions that helped it escape, it would remember them. Thorndike believed any action that produced a good effect would be imprinted in an
animal's mind. In 1898, Thorndike wrote the article, 'the Law of Effect' which elucidated how consequences govern actions. He presented the idea that
animals and humans learn to repeat actions that provide positive effects and avoid actions which have negative outcomes. Consequently, his theory

Cardboard And Cups Experiment Essay
Have you ever wanted to stand on something that is very very light without crushing it? Something you can't stand because it is impossible. Here's
an idea though how about taking cardboard and cups? Now, what can you do with these items? I know. How about you try to do the paper cup
walk. It would be amazing if you could stand on dixie cups and just two pieces of cardboard with all your weight. The goal to do with this project is
to not crush one dixie cup. Also you should try cutting out the bottom of the cups and see if you can stand on them without crushing one cup. Everyone
does this experiment different that is why it is fun. Pressure is a physical force exerted on or against an object by something in contact with it. When

Tension is the state of being stretched tight. For example if you have a piece of paper and you try to stretch it won't this is called tension. If you cut
out the bottom of a cup the tension is gone. If you try to replace the bottom of the paper cups with something else for example, sand you can also see
that the sand replaces the bottom of the cups. The sand replaces the base to make it even stronger than it was before. The sand's replacing the tension
which causes the cups to stretch back out again and make this experiment a lot more interesting. Compression is the last thing going on here in this
experiment. Compression is thrust, load, stress, compressing, squeezing, crushing, weight, and heaviness. Take the paper again and after you've used
tension with it let's use compression. If you crush the paper into a ball. This is compression. Now compression is similar to pressure in this project
actually, pressure causes compression but they are a little bit different. Take another example an air compressor. The machine inside is compressing and
compressing because it is trapped. When you cut out the bottoms of the cups you see that the cups fall and you do too this is compression in this
experiment. You can compress almost anything in the

Essay on Medicine During the Elizabethan Era
Medicine During the Elizabethan Era
The medicinal practices and problems of the Elizabethan Era were very important to the people, although they are very different from those of today.
There were many different beliefs and diseases, like the Plague. Medicine was not an exact science and was related to Alchemy (Chemistry). Here,
some of the many practices and beliefs of the Elizabethan Era will be discussed.
One of the most widely known and important of the beliefs was the humours. It was believed that every living creature was composed of four
elements, the humours. They were blood, phlegm, choler (or yellow bile), and melancholy (or black bile). It was believed that the overall total

He would also wish to know which part of the body was affected by the illness, because each part was related to a certain star sign or constellation,
and he would bear in mind under which star sign each ingredient of certain medicines was under.
Alchemy (Early Chemistry) was another science closely related to medicine. Alchemy was the name given to this science in Latin Europe in the 12th
century. It was a belief that the human body was closely related to the stars and the heavens. Over hundreds of years, the main goals of alchemists
were to turn any metal into gold and discover an elixir which could cure all ills or lead to immortality. This magical elixir was called the philosopher's
stone. Alchemy was based on the belief that there are four basic elements – fire, earth, air and water – and three essentials – salt, sulfur and mercury.
The metals gold, silver, copper, lead, iron, and tin were all known before the rise of alchemy. The liquid metal, mercury, and the burning rock, sulfur,
were also known. Many processes with these elements were known to alchemists. The art of alchemy was heavily spiritual. Alchemists were the first to
try out different ideas and experiment with different elements, but because of their intense metaphysical and spiritual beliefs, they didn't develop
modern day scientific methods.
Alchemist studied alchemy for hundreds of years, but they didn't

Akasha – Spirit
Akasha is the fifth creative element and denotes pure spirit. In ancient writings, Akasha is said to operate through sound or vibration and is identified
with the element of Air and in a spiritual sense with the "breath of god" as seen in ancient Hebraic texts. Akasha is considered to be an indispensable
element of every magickal act. It can be related to an "occult electricity" as energy rises with our emotions and desires becoming the basis for fertility
of the mind, body and spirit. Also, the energy of passion, motivation, and determination. Akasha emanates the power of spirit and harmonizes with the
elements of Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. It correlates with the symbolism of the pentagram with the four elements being controlled by Spirit.

The pentagram means "five lines" from the Greek word pentagrammos. It is actually just a star shape but can take on meaning depending on your
spiritual beliefs and the context in which it is used. The pentagram is a symbol of protection in Wicca and Witchcraft. The top of the star represents
pure spirit and the other points represent the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

God's timing is perfect and there is a reason why I felt a sense of urgency in beginning the MOL program this summer. The ministry at the church I

our ministries around that mission and vision and determine what ministries will continue, what needs to be let go of, and what new plans God may

The Four Elements Of Earth Bending
IВґve always believed that the pillars of planet Earth are the four main elements. Of course I am referring to Air, Water, Fire and Earth. Imagine having
the ability to harness and bend each of these four elements into anything you desire. Each one of these elements has their own different but unique
characteristic. They all have endless possibilities depending on how you decide to use each one of them.
Let us start with the simplest one, the Air element. This element is really basic. Although Air bending sounds really simple there are a lot of things you
are able to do with it. You can create air rushes, tornadoes and other kind of aerial disruptions. However, the most interesting characteristic of being an

water bending is blood bending. This ability as the name implies consists of you having the ability to control the blood of any being either being an

Akasha
Although the word Akasha has been popularized by the vampire movie "Queen of the Damned" it is actually a Sanskrit word translating to "sky" or
"open space". The word is used in Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism in addition to Paganism. Because the word is used in several different belief systems
and because of the nature of it's meaning in each, it is a difficult word to clearly and accurately define.
In Buddhism the word is associated with both limited and endless space. In Hinduism Akasha means ether, and is the essence of all things and the first
of the material elements from the astral world. This is an unseeable, unfathomable energy that is present in everything. The other elements or Tattwas,

Akasha's power of limitlessness potential and timelessness prevents spells from being lost and from being irreversible. It acts as a reserve and safety
net, though that does not mean those of us who practice Magick can be careless or undo spells without any sort of consequences.
Akasha is associated with a sort of raw and primal energy that extends into everything, but has no form or substance itself. It is sometimes described
using imagery of a void or black hole that contains energy but has none itself. The image of Spirit may be highly personal, and while meditating on it,
it is best to not use external stimuli as it may influence the deeply personal and unique understanding each individual has.
Because Akasha is associated with the "spaces in between" and not material in itself, it is not strongly associated with specific herbs, minerals,
symbols, animals or other correspondences. It is typically associated with the colors black or dark purple however some traditions associate with white
or even ultraviolet. Many Pagan traditions associate the four elements with Cardinal directions, however Spirit is associated with all of them as well as

The 4 Elements Of The Four Giantss Of Earth, Water And Earth
The 4 Elements
Once upon a time there were 4 giants 1 fire 1 earth 1 water and air. They all covered the great plains of the united states. Though back then there we

each praised one of them and if you did not praise any you will vanish into the center of the earth. They all lived in peace and harmony.
The mean and jealous one Fire Wanted the water part because he thought he had more power over everyone and he took the first strike He tried to
take the land of water because he thought that the the water giant was weak and helpless but he did not know that water could put out fire and he got

smallest of them all. Though he did not know he was king of earth because he can burn it to dust.
The air was kicked out of the 4 elements because she thought she ruled over everyone like fire and killed all her troops. The rest of the troops though
kicked her out and there she was sitting at the rocky mountains and regretting what she had done.
The earth tried to kill the fire and as he whipped the fire element with his Vines The fire element just stood there and did not do anything. One day later

however, due to the Avatar having to master the four elements, Roku moves away from the Fire Nation to learn the other elements. When Roku
returns from his journey he meets Sozin and Sozin proposes the idea of expanding the Fire Nation's territory due to their recent prosperous times.
Roku disagrees with this idea and informs Sozin to not execute his plan. Sozin executes the plan anyways leading to Roku's discovery and his
proposal for the end of Fire Nation's conquest. A fight ensues between the two ending with Roku's win leading to the beginning of Sozin's hate for
Avatars. Fortunately for Sozin, Roku dies while protecting his family from a volcanic eruption. The absence of the Avatar greatly hastens Sozin's
expansion of the Fire Nation and he starts with the eradication of the Air Nomads because of the Avatar's reincarnation

Four Aspects Of The Four Elements Of Classical Conditioning
Classical Conditioning is the repeated use of stimuli in combination with a repeated significant psychological event to train the one being conditioned
to anticipate the event in response to the stimuli. The most basic example of this type of conditioning is train an animal to expect treats by making
use of their sense of sound and blowing a whistle or ringing a bell just before you give them a treat each time. This will train the animal to associate
the sound of the whistle or bell with the reception of the forthcoming treat, and it will begin to salivate in anticipation of getting the treat whenever it
hears the sound.
There are four elements of classical conditioning. These elements of classical conditioning include unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned response,
conditioned stimulus, and conditioned response. These four elements make up the classical conditioning procedure. An unconditioned stimulus in an
experiment is a stimulus that elicits a response from the subject of the experiment without any previous conditioning. This can be anything that elicits
an instinctual response that an organism might have, such as the treat that the animal salivates over as described in the experiment in paragraph one.
An unconditioned response in any response regarding an unconditioned stimulus. In the case stated in paragraph one, the unconditioned response
would be the salivating of the animal in anticipation of the treat. A conditioned stimulus is a stimulus that would have no

Essay on Galenic Medicine
To what extent was Galenic Medicine a part of the broader Aristotelian World View? In this essay I will strive to show the extent upon which Galenic
medicine was incorporated in to the predominantly Aristotelian world view, concluding that Aristotelian philosophies underpinned the majority of
Galenic theories and concepts. To achieve this I will primarily demonstrate the perceived link between medicine and natural philosophy that existed at
the time. I will continue with a description of the Aristotelian Form, Matter and Substance theories, which formed the basis for the Aristotelian world
view. After considering the concepts that formed the Aristotelian philosophy, form, matter and substance, I will take a closer look at the Galenic

The 'form' carries or provides qualities and bestowed them on objects to make them what they were. Certain forms were subordinate to others and this
created a hierarchy of forms which resulted in a controlling or a noble form.[8] Matter is the thing which takes on form. All change in the universe is
the result of opposition between contraries, in this case between the three primary principles of, 'privation, form and matter'. The theme of opposition
between contraries ran through many Aristotelian theories, such as the primary qualities. Matter lacked form and was suitable to receiving all forms.
Privation was simply the absence of form and the potentiality of acquiring new form.[9] Through this process of privation, form and matter, elements
had the ability to transform in to each other, within Aristotle's elemental matter theory. Form and matter cannot exist separately, although in thought
they can be considered as two separate things. The function of form was to, 'inform matter and determine a particular kind, giving specificity and
distinction from other kinds; and finally to furnish and bring about all activities.'[10] Matter, form and substance are exemplified in the Aristotelian
theory of elements, which was the basis of the Galenic humoral theory. Aristotle believed all bodies and objects in the sub–lunar world, or the world
beneath the moon, were made up of four elements or simple bodies; Earth, Water,

The Watchtowers And Paganism
The Watchtowers The Watchtowers represents the four cardinal directions: North, South , East and West. In many traditions they are also associated
with each of the four classical elements: Air, Fire and Water and Earth. These are the Elements of nature and are forces honored by Pagans and
Witches. The Watchtowers are often referred to as Corners, Quarters, Elements, Elementals and so on. These related titles represents different forms of
energy and holds different meanings. They are seen differently by each induvidual, like with many other things in the Craft or Paganism. The
Watchtowers are being evoked (or invoked) when doing magickal rituals and workings, and they are asked to watch over the circle. Usually the

Kotter 's 8 Step Model Essay
Kotter's 8–Step Model. As mentioned before, there are several models that an organization can use as a guide for transformational change. John Kotter's
8–Step Model is one that addresses the nuances of change in more detail than Lewin's three–step model. His eight–steps are (Parmenter, 2015):
Establish a sense of urgency.
Create a coalition to guide the change.
Develop a vision and strategy.
Communicate the vision.
Empowering broad–based action.
Generate short–term wins.
Consolidate gains and produce more change.
Anchor new approaches in the culture.
Many organizations may find this model to be more in–depth and easier to incorporate, yet, the steps cannot be skipped and the process can be very
time–consuming, which is the biggest con to using this model. As a result, the method may not work for every organization. Saying that, there other
models that aid transformational change.
Nadler's Theory of Change Management
While one organization may thrive using either Lewin's or Kotter's model, there are those organizations that may not find success with these
approaches. Another popular model was developed by David A. Nadler and is also known as the Congruence Model. Nadler's model is based on the
idea that every organization has four elements: people, culture, structure and task. The higher the congruence, or compatibility, the better the
organization is at changing. His process requires an analysis of each of these elements and how they interact.

What Are The Four Elements Of Atmosphere
This essay will discuss the four elements of atmosphere that are used to reach out to customers. Those elements are the following: exterior, general
interior, store layout, and displays. The combined used of these elements create a unique image that customers can identify with the store's image and
lends to what is known as visual merchandising.
The first element that contributes to a customer's perception of a store–based firm is the exterior. Planning of the exterior, has to include the store's
exterior attributes which includes the storefront, store entrances, display windows, building height, visibility, surrounding areas and stores and parking
facilities. Depending on the image that the store wishes to be perceived as these attributes have to portray uniqueness. According to Berman and Evans,

The third element that contributes to a customer's perception of a store–based firm is the store layout. There are six steps that need to be considered
when planning the store's layout. These steps are the following: allocation of store space, classification or store offerings, determination of a
traffic–flow pattern, mapping our in–store locations, and arrangement of individual products. The purpose of a store's layout is to make shopping as

Anatomical Theory Of Disease Essay
In this paper I am going to discuss the differences between the Humoral concept of disease, the anatomical theory of disease, the germ theory of
disease and the differences between each theory. I am also going to look at the historical significance of these theories and how they apply to health
and wellness in today's health care. The humoral theory comes from an ancient Greek theory that states that the human body is composed of four basic
humors. The Humoral theory is derived from the word "humor," but in this context, means "fluid". The Humoral theory is related to the theory of the
earth and the four elements. These elements are better known as earth, fire, water and air. The balance in these earthly elements allows the earth... Show

The fundamental concept of this theory states that microorganisms can invade the body and cause certain diseases or even death. Before this theory
was accepted many people believed that a disease was a punishment for a person's evil behavior not a medical problem. These three theories differ
because they all covered different barriers when it came to treating and understanding diseases. The Humoral theory began with the four–elements and
the anatomical theory allowed us to take a deeper look into the functioning of the bodies systems. This helped us to learn what was happening in
the body, in the body systems and in the organs. Without these two studies we would not have come to the Germ Theory. Even though each theory
is different in concept each theory was important and we would not have been able to progress along to the next theory. If we would not have had
the germ theory we would not have discovered the need for vaccines or discovered antiseptics. These theories also allowed physicians to learn to
look at diseases on a micro (small scale) instead of just a macro scale or "big" picture. I feel that these theories have led to significant changes in
health care over the years. These theories have allowed scientist to discover not only how to cure some disease but also how to prevent diseases from
spreading. Scientists were able to develop vaccines, antiseptics, create personal protective equipment and enabled the public

Taking a Look at VastuShastra
VastuShastra is a 5000 years old Indian Vedic science which had laid down the guidelines for human beings so that they could live in peace in their own
space. Even in great scriptures like Atharv Veda, Gita, MayamatamMansar, VishwakarmaPrakash, SamranganSutradhar, VastuRatnavali and Sthapatya
Veda, VastuShastra is described broadly. The fundamental concepts of VastuShastra were laid odwn by Rishi

this area.
Some believe that because of the principle of VastuShastra, whole universe gets good health, harmony, happiness and prosperity.
But is that even true? Is that possible?
In Sanskrit Language, Vastu is a combination of two words i.e. Vas meaning to live and astu meaning in this way. the practical meaning and application
of VastuShastra is to build a positive environment that is worth living.
VastuShastra is nothing but creating an environment by taking benefits bestowed by the five elements called Panch–Maha–Bhootas of the nature.
Human being is made of these five elements, the origination begins from the earth, then one enjoys other elements like water, air, space, fire, after
living their live they again merge into earth.
According to VastuShastra, an imaginary person in the form of God called Vastu

Descriptive Essay On A Beach
For this assignment I decided to head out to Docweiler Beach near LAX. I love the beach, not so much for going swimming or getting wet but
more to lay in the sand and just relax to the soothing sound of the waves, especially nice in this hot weather. I decided to bring my sister for the ride
so it's not to lonely and set up around a more deserted part for more concentration and relaxation. I also chose Dockweiler Beach because there I could
get a sense of all the 5 ancient elements all in one sitting, with all the elements interacting. Water clashing against the sand to create a calming sound,
the wind riding against the waves causes a cool chill down my spine and the man made fire to keep warm. I can feel the earth element in the sand
getting in my toes and all over my clothes to later find more in my underwear. The Air element is strong along the beach, getting my hair all over
my face as well as making kites fly high. I see the fire element being used to light the bonfires along the beach to keep people warm on the windy
beach or to probably make S'mores. The water element as I can see is the giant ocean in front of me going as far as I can see with no ending.
Another reason I don't like going into the water, the ocean is terrifying especially when you don't know how to swim. Then there is the void element
which in this case is me and my mind observing this presence and writing it out in this essay. Officially today there is a total of 118 elements in the
periodic table. These ancient four elements originated from the ancient Greeks and then the fifth element aether (void) was added by Aristotle. Before
the fifth element the first four elements which were earth, wind, water, and fire, represented to the ancient Greeks as well as modern science the four
states of matter. In these 4 states of matter we have solid representing the earth element, liquid representing the water element, gas representing the air
element, and plasma representing the fire element. The ancient 5 elements are active is every bodies daily routine schedule. It's something we see
every day and don't notice the affects they have on us. Looking more closely to everyday life we have earth. Earth is what we walk on, it has a variety of

Technology And Technology Essay
Effects of Technology Type and Use on Group Performance Rates
Technology has arguably had one of the greatest impacts on our society in the past decade. It has integrated itself from only a few elements in life to
now countless different ways and methods of usage throughout day to day activities (Lenhart, Purcell, Smith, & Zickuhr, 2010). There has been a
steady increase in technology use not only with teenagers, but also adults. An aspect that is also on the rise with technology is the use of the internet
(Lenhart et al., 2010). Some of the most popular uses of the internet include online shopping, reading news outlets, researching economic and health
information, social media, and countless other means. Of the variety of uses for the internet, one of the most common is social networking; almost
three–fourths of individuals between the ages of 18–29 frequently use a social networking website (Lenhart et al., 2010). Whether it is updating a
profile or posting a photo, a common theme between the different forms of social networking and technology is communication.
More than half of the individuals with a device use social media networks to communicate with other individuals (Lenhar et al., 2010). These different
uses of technology can be conducted on several different types of devices, however, there are two types of devices that remain highly popular in
society. Among those between the ages of 18–29, approximately 93% of those individuals own a cell phone. The percent of individuals who own
cellphones continues to increase as well and has more than doubled among young teens in six years (Lenhart et al., 2010). Wireless computers like
laptops have also increased in prevalence and continue to increase in popularity. Laptops are now a more popular choice compared to desktop
computers (Lenhar et al., 2010). Technology, however, is not only making an impact on how we communicate and interact socially, but also
professionally (Attaran & Attaran, 2001). There have been some major changes in the work environment by having individuals, instead of working
separately, work as a team. Technology is now being used in the workplace to create more collaborative processes (Attaran & Attaran, 2001).

The Black Death and Its Effects
Healing has been around a long time. You may think that medicine has changed a lot over the years, and it has for the better. But that does not mean
that some of the practices have stayed around. prayer, accupuncture, diet, etc. have all stayed around, but have changed slightly.
The plaque also known as the Black death swept over Europe and Asia in the 14 century to the 15th. This disease is spread by rats and killed many
people. Over one third of the population died of Europe. This painful and terrible disease managed to tear families apart as well as communities.
Black death was caused by rats and rat fleas. A rat flea lives off of blood from small mammals and sometimes but humans. If a rat flea were to bite
an infected rat and a human afterwards, the human would become infected, and possibly die from the disease. Symptoms of the plague included but
were not limited to fever, Bubos(large painful boils) and headaches. In the later stages the person would develop black and purple blotches all over
their skin, and also cough up pus and blood. The disease traveled through blood, so once the sickness reached their lungs symptoms would only get
worse, and most likely lead to death.
How people would try to prevent the elements could be considered strange and useless in some peoples opinion, but during the black death people
genuinely thought doing the following would help. Going outside, bathing, sex or other personal contact, and hot foods were all avoided. If you were to

Testing Different Websites Are The Best Process Of Control...
Testing different websites' versions is the best process to control improvements. Although it sounds like a simple changing features activity, testing is a
big challenge that often involves teams such as marketers, designers, researchers, and analysts, which makes the testing process even harder. The risk
of failure on the experiment is higher when the test is built based on the team's insights only and not on the users' point of view. However, it is
important to try different types of testing to uncover possible root causes of a drop in the website traffic and make wise decisions to fix it.

Most of the time it requires resources that are already available at the company. In addition, it is important to choose relevant pages or element for the
measurements and changes. Avinash also states that there must be big changes on the version A and B of the website, so that we can observe changes
in conversions and outcome (Web Analytics, 2010, 209). A/B test has been described as the best technique to start a testing journey, nevertheless
frequently relying on A/B test results could also mean that the changes are slowly impacting the traffic.
Multivariate test
Unlike in A/B test, in multivariate test we use more than one element at the same time. The first task is to identify the critical elements to be optimized.
After that we will create two or more versions of each element. For example, using multivariate test to decide whether the picture on the landing page is
bringing traffic or not, and where it looks more attractive on the page we can at least design three different versions: One with the picture on the right
side, one with the picture on the left side, and another one with no picture at all. Multivariate test requires javaScript implementation from the testing
tool; therefore each of the elements on the test would have a tag around, and the alternatives would be uploaded into the testing tool (google website
optimizer).

Classical Elements Of The Military Essay
Classical elements of our military are organizational structure, principles of organizational reward, the machine metaphor, and the theory of
bureaucracy. Many theories of management have military backgrounds that date back to the beginning of history to Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar,
and Napoleon. All of these leaders became successful through their efficiency to lead, line of command, unity, and division of work. The United States
Military is divided into five branches of service. The Army is the the oldest branch of the military, and focuses on defending the country and is the
main fighting force of the military. The Air Force works with the Army and is in charge of all of the satellites and nuclear missiles. The Navy
ensures equal freedom in the oceans around the world, and protects the interests of our nation to be free. Marine Corps are the first ones to battle, and
are responsible for delivering tasks on ground, sea, and in the air. The Coast Guard is responsible for boating safety and rescue, law enforcement, and
controlling illegal immigration (Hewes 2005). These are the building blocks behind the reason why our military is so successful and powerful. In 1775,
before our nation was established as a Country, colonists were organized into miscellaneous militias with no distinct structure or organization of a
unified hierarchy. George Washington recognized the missing piece to the puzzle, and how the Continental Army would conquer and win the
Revolutionary War.

A Study Of Bitopological Spaces
Abstract. In 1995, A.A. Nasef and T. Noiri [6] introduced the notion of strongly
пЃў – irresolute functions. In the present paper, we generalize this notion to the setting of bitopological spaces and obtain some characterizations and
properties of pairwise strongly semi–preirresolute functions.
AMS Mathematics Subject Classifications (2010): 54E55, 54A05, 54C10, 54D05.
Key words and phrases: semi–preopen, (i, j)–semi–preopen, semi–preirresolute, pairwise strongly semi–preirresolute.
1. Introduction and preliminaries
The study of bitopological spaces was initiated by Kelly [4] in 1963. Abd ElMonsef et al. [1] introduced the notion of
пЃў –open sets and
пЃў –continuity in topological spaces. On the other hand, Andrijevic [2] called
пЃў –open sets semipreopen and obtained many properties of such subsets. Recently, Khedr et al. [5] have investigated the notions of semi–preopen
sets and semi–precontinuity in bitopological spaces. In 1995, Nasef and Noiri [6] defined and studied the concept of strongly
пЃў – irresolute functions. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the concept of strongly пЃў –irresoluteness to the setting of bitopological
spaces.
Throughout the present paper, (X, пЃґ1, пЃґ2) and (Y, 1, 2) always mean bitopological spaces. For asubset A of a space X, пЃґi–c1(A) (resp.

was because they were not living their life right and were being punished by the gods so that they would turn their life around and live more
spiritually so as to please the gods. An good example of this is epileptic ceizures. "Since an epileptic fit is very sudden and striking, the condition was
naturally attributed to the patient's violent possession by a god" (Jouanna, Allies, Eijk, 2012). When men and women would have these fits, they were

Yellow Bile, or the Choleric humor, is the third to arise and receives a rather coarse, meager share of nutrients. It is not so plentiful. Only a slight
residue enters the general circulation; the rest is stored in the gall bladder, its receptacle, to be used as needed. Black Bile, or the Melancholic humor,

  • 1. Elements Of The Classical And Behavioral Philosophies Of... Article: McDonald's need for speed inside CEO Steve Easterbrook's bold strategy to transform the fast–food giant. In today's world, we are being surrounded by various organizations. However, each organization has its way of being managed. In fact, this is shown in the various roles managers play within their organization. We can examine this through two different managerial theories, notably the classical school of management and the behavioral school of management. Moreover, the article given in this assignment concerns the McDonald's business. Keeping in mind the two managerial philosophies, I will thus examine, and explain how McDonald's uses elements of the classical and behavioral approaches to management, as well as state my opinion on which approach I believe the company is better off with. MCDONALD'S AND THE CLASSICAL APPROACH. McDonald's is a fast food restaurant available in different places of the world. In fact, the fast food chain, is well known worldwide and has had much success. Upon looking at the first stream of the classical approach; scientific management, developed by Frederick Taylor, we can see that McDonald's in fact does standardize the work that they do. According to Taylor, this method "allows the company to move efficiently". In your typical McDonald's everyone occupies different roles such as a chef, food testers, managers, cashiers, cooks, supervisors, cleaners etc. In fact from Fayol's administrative point, McDonald's possessed great team ... • 2. 4 Elements the Wars Essay The Wars: Four Elements It was the ancient Greek philosopher, Empedocles, who first established the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. He also stated that everything in the world is structured by and rooted in these four elements. However during times of conflict and violence, humans begin to disturb this harmony. When this happens, the elements stop representing life and start representing a form of destruction. Throughout Robert Ross's journey in The Wars, Timothy Findley exemplifies this theory by displaying the four elements in two diverse ways: benevolent and harmful. Earth is said to be the feminine element. It is perceived to be nurturing, stable, and full of endurance. The planet itself is a ball of life in which one is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This comes to no surprise. Like water, life is subject to change. Like water, life is shaped by the places it exists in: the earth, the environment, and the ecosystems. Throughout his voyage, Robert Ross finds himself in the presence of snow numerous times. For instance, it snows during Rowena's funeral, "All the time the minister eulogized and all the time they prayed, it snowed" (Finley 18) Robert also stands in the snow at the train station, much like Mrs. Ross let the snow beat down on her face. Each of these events marks a point of permanent change. Everyone is able to imagine the scene where the hero looks down and the town below him is awash in flames. Fire is the agent of destruction; symbolism of both chaos and war. Burning everything in its path, it brings nothing but devastation. "Fire storms raged along the front. Men were exploded where they stood – blown apart by the combustion" (Findley 137) Staying true to this depiction, fire takes the lives of many during the war, including Robert himself. While trying to save the horses, Roberts get caught in the barn and the roof "went up in seconds like a tinder box." (Finley 212) Although the flames claimed the lives of many, at times they also helped give Robert peace at mind. During Robert's stay at Desole, he receives his kit bag which includes a picture of Rowena. He decides to burn the picture and it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Classical Elements In John Tennyson's Ulysses Classical elements refer to ancient beliefs inspired by natural observation of the phases of matter; with the classical elements: earth is equivalent to solid, water is equivalent to liquid, air is equivalent to gas and fire is equivalent to plasma. Historians trace the evolution of modern theory pertaining to the chemical elements, as well as chemical compounds and mixtures of natural substances to medieval, and Greek models. "Ulysses" details Ulysses' intense dissatisfaction and boredom on his island home of Ithaca. The poem is a monologue spoken by him, where he not only expresses his discontent, but also describes his desire to keep sailing. He's getting older and doesn't have a lot of time left, so he wants to get busy living rather than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Tennyson wants to drink life to the 'lees'. 'Lees' refers to the grosser part of the liquid that has settled at the bottom. The poet implies that he gracefully welcomes old age with all the trials and tribulations it has to offer. All the elements in this poem are taken from Greek mythology. The poet expresses his feelings through the character of Ulysses which is itself the major classical element. The environments, events and the adventures are closely associated with classical elements. Tennyson found much inspiration in the ancient worlds of Greece and Rome. Tennyson lived during a period of great scientific advancement, and he used his poetry to work out the conflict between religious faith and scientific discoveries. Much of his verse was based on classical mythological themes, such as Ulysses. In "Ulysses", Tennyson uses the ancient voices and choices of Ulysses and his men to explore commitment to ideals and duty, inevitability and stasis, death wishes, and dualism. The character of Ulysses (in Greek, Odysseus) has explored widely in literature. The adventures of Odysseus were first recorded in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey (c. 800–700 BC), and Tennyson draws on Homer's narrative in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Heraclitus Compare And Contrast Opposition in Unity My interpretation of Heraclitus is the claim that opposites co–exist. To have an opposite means to have diametrically different ideas, actions, or concepts. An example of opposites would be hot and cold; these are relative concept of temperature with cold being the absence of heat(hot) and vice versa. What Heraclitus is claiming is that opposites can exist together simultaneously or in succession. This claim is suggested and exemplified in fragments 55, 41, 59, and 61. A set of opposites that simultaneously co–exist are permeance and change. Heraclitus claims that "changing it rests" (55). Examining this claim through physics the common example would be potential energy. While an object is at rest it holds this energy called potential energy for its ability to change. When the object begins to move this potential energy changes to kinetic energy, the energy of motion. While the object is at rest, or in permeance the object holds the ability to create energy and change. Furthermore, another example of permeance and change that Heraclitus mentions directly is the river. Fragment 41 reads "we step into and we do not step into the same rivers". Step into a... Minor keys are different in that the key brings two notes together that create dissonance. Dissonance is the opposite of harmony it is created by tension. Heraclitus says "... thought at variance with itself, it agrees with itself" (61). Dissonance is used in minor keys as a different way of bringing notes together still creating harmony. Minor keys are described as sad, or somber, because of the harmony the dissonance creates. Heraclitus is claiming is that this variance, while the notes may not agree with each other, it creates a new agreement between the notes creating a new harmony. Another essential element in a Victory City is transportation. Withinthe city, there will be only two types of transportation: elevators, and small electric cars. The high–speed elevators make it possible to move around a building, from one place to another, in only five to ten minutes. The electric cars are very safe, even children can operate them, and they will prevent many accidents. Connecting Victory Cities will be larger electric cars and trains, running through tunnels underground. The transportation system is quite different than our way, as we can choose between varieties of different vehicles, and it is not allowed in a Victory City. • 8. The Formative Elements Of Classical Scholarship ROMANTICISM, WEIMAR CLASSICISM, STURM UND DRANG In this chapter, I consider the formative elements of classical scholarship; in particular, how scholarship developed through this time period from something to be studied by elite amateurs to something formalised. What I examine specifically is how the themes of elitism, mysticism, projection, and language were the defining paradigms of thought for Romantics. In later chapters, these recurring themes will show themselves time and time again in scholarship, ultimately showing that Freud's psychoanalysis was an evolution of existing ideology, not a revolutionary idea. Thus in order to understand how psychoanalysis became seen as a viable tool with which to approach mythology one must examine the roots of western classical scholarship. During the Romantic era intellectual authority lay with the poets, novelists, and playwrights. To understand how the scholarly community came to be so receptive to Freud it is key to examine how these paradigms affected the respected views of myth and history – given by amateur historians and fop poets alike – in the Romantic era. ELITISM The Romantic Movement was really only open to the privileged and wealthy. Schiller's early Romantic plays had many of the hallmarks of Romantic literature – historical figures such as Joan of Arc and Mary Queen of Scots were lauded and personal freedom and broadly anarchist views were positively expressed . However, the inherent classism in such Romantic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Behaviourism is a psychological approach that explains human development as learning from experience rather than a result of inborn tendencies or higher order thinking. (Moonie, 2006) The behaviourist movement began in 1913 when Watson wrote the article 'Psychology as the behaviourist views it.' Additionally, Pavlov, Thorndike and Skinner worked to develop behavioural theories of learning. They suggest that all behaviour is learned either through classical or operant conditioning. (Cardwell and Flanagan, 2012, p.50) Thorndike's research offered valuable insights into conditioning. He studied the way animals learn through trial and error by observing their responses in controlled conditions. For example, a hungry cat would experiment with methods of escaping from a cage to receive a reward of food. When the cat discovered actions that helped it escape, it would remember them. Thorndike believed any action that produced a good effect would be imprinted in an animal's mind. In 1898, Thorndike wrote the article, 'the Law of Effect' which elucidated how consequences govern actions. He presented the idea that animals and humans learn to repeat actions that provide positive effects and avoid actions which have negative outcomes. Consequently, his theory provided ... Here's an idea though how about taking cardboard and cups? Now, what can you do with these items? I know. How about you try to do the paper cup walk. It would be amazing if you could stand on dixie cups and just two pieces of cardboard with all your weight. The goal to do with this project is to not crush one dixie cup. Also you should try cutting out the bottom of the cups and see if you can stand on them without crushing one cup. Everyone does this experiment different that is why it is fun. For example if you have a piece of paper and you try to stretch it won't this is called tension. If you cut out the bottom of a cup the tension is gone. If you try to replace the bottom of the paper cups with something else for example, sand you can also see that the sand replaces the bottom of the cups. The sand replaces the base to make it even stronger than it was before. The sand's replacing the tension which causes the cups to stretch back out again and make this experiment a lot more interesting. Compression is the last thing going on here in this experiment. Compression is thrust, load, stress, compressing, squeezing, crushing, weight, and heaviness. Take the paper again and after you've used tension with it let's use compression. If you crush the paper into a ball. This is compression. Now compression is similar to pressure in this project actually, pressure causes compression but they are a little bit different. Essay on Medicine During the Elizabethan Era Medicine During the Elizabethan Era The medicinal practices and problems of the Elizabethan Era were very important to the people, although they are very different from those of today. There were many different beliefs and diseases, like the Plague. Medicine was not an exact science and was related to Alchemy (Chemistry). Here, some of the many practices and beliefs of the Elizabethan Era will be discussed. One of the most widely known and important of the beliefs was the humours. It was a belief that the human body was closely related to the stars and the heavens. Over hundreds of years, the main goals of alchemists were to turn any metal into gold and discover an elixir which could cure all ills or lead to immortality. This magical elixir was called the philosopher's stone. Alchemy was based on the belief that there are four basic elements – fire, earth, air and water – and three essentials – salt, sulfur and mercury. The metals gold, silver, copper, lead, iron, and tin were all known before the rise of alchemy. The liquid metal, mercury, and the burning rock, sulfur, were also known. Many processes with these elements were known to alchemists. The art of alchemy was heavily spiritual. Alchemists were the first to try out different ideas and experiment with different elements, but because of their intense metaphysical and spiritual beliefs, they didn't develop modern day scientific methods. In ancient writings, Akasha is said to operate through sound or vibration and is identified with the element of Air and in a spiritual sense with the "breath of god" as seen in ancient Hebraic texts. Akasha is considered to be an indispensable element of every magickal act. It can be related to an "occult electricity" as energy rises with our emotions and desires becoming the basis for fertility of the mind, body and spirit. Also, the energy of passion, motivation, and determination. Akasha emanates the power of spirit and harmonizes with the elements of Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. • 21. Four Aspects Of The Four Elements Of Classical Conditioning Classical Conditioning is the repeated use of stimuli in combination with a repeated significant psychological event to train the one being conditioned to anticipate the event in response to the stimuli. The most basic example of this type of conditioning is train an animal to expect treats by making use of their sense of sound and blowing a whistle or ringing a bell just before you give them a treat each time. This will train the animal to associate the sound of the whistle or bell with the reception of the forthcoming treat, and it will begin to salivate in anticipation of getting the treat whenever it hears the sound. There are four elements of classical conditioning. These elements of classical conditioning include unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned response, conditioned stimulus, and conditioned response. These four elements make up the classical conditioning procedure. An unconditioned stimulus in an experiment is a stimulus that elicits a response from the subject of the experiment without any previous conditioning. This can be anything that elicits an instinctual response that an organism might have, such as the treat that the animal salivates over as described in the experiment in paragraph one. An unconditioned response in any response regarding an unconditioned stimulus. In the case stated in paragraph one, the unconditioned response would be the salivating of the animal in anticipation of the treat. A conditioned stimulus is a stimulus that would have no ... The 'form' carries or provides qualities and bestowed them on objects to make them what they were. Certain forms were subordinate to others and this created a hierarchy of forms which resulted in a controlling or a noble form.[8] Matter is the thing which takes on form. All change in the universe is the result of opposition between contraries, in this case between the three primary principles of, 'privation, form and matter'. The theme of opposition between contraries ran through many Aristotelian theories, such as the primary qualities. Matter lacked form and was suitable to receiving all forms. Privation was simply the absence of form and the potentiality of acquiring new form.[9] Through this process of privation, form and matter, elements had the ability to transform in to each other, within Aristotle's elemental matter theory. Form and matter cannot exist separately, although in thought they can be considered as two separate things. The function of form was to, 'inform matter and determine a particular kind, giving specificity and distinction from other kinds; and finally to furnish and bring about all activities.'[10] Matter, form and substance are exemplified in the Aristotelian theory of elements, which was the basis of the Galenic humoral theory. John Kotter's 8–Step Model is one that addresses the nuances of change in more detail than Lewin's three–step model. His eight–steps are (Parmenter, 2015): Establish a sense of urgency. Create a coalition to guide the change. Develop a vision and strategy. Communicate the vision. Empowering broad–based action. Generate short–term wins. Consolidate gains and produce more change. Anchor new approaches in the culture. Many organizations may find this model to be more in–depth and easier to incorporate, yet, the steps cannot be skipped and the process can be very time–consuming, which is the biggest con to using this model. As a result, the method may not work for every organization. Saying that, there other models that aid transformational change. Nadler's Theory of Change Management While one organization may thrive using either Lewin's or Kotter's model, there are those organizations that may not find success with these approaches. Another popular model was developed by David A. Nadler and is also known as the Congruence Model. The humoral theory comes from an ancient Greek theory that states that the human body is composed of four basic humors. Before this theory was accepted many people believed that a disease was a punishment for a person's evil behavior not a medical problem. The Humoral theory began with the four–elements and the anatomical theory allowed us to take a deeper look into the functioning of the bodies systems. This helped us to learn what was happening in the body, in the body systems and in the organs. Without these two studies we would not have come to the Germ Theory. I love the beach, not so much for going swimming or getting wet but more to lay in the sand and just relax to the soothing sound of the waves, especially nice in this hot weather. I decided to bring my sister for the ride so it's not to lonely and set up around a more deserted part for more concentration and relaxation. I also chose Dockweiler Beach because there I could get a sense of all the 5 ancient elements all in one sitting, with all the elements interacting. Water clashing against the sand to create a calming sound, the wind riding against the waves causes a cool chill down my spine and the man made fire to keep warm. I can feel the earth element in the sand getting in my toes and all over my clothes to later find more in my underwear. The Air element is strong along the beach, getting my hair all over my face as well as making kites fly high. I see the fire element being used to light the bonfires along the beach to keep people warm on the windy beach or to probably make S'mores. The water element as I can see is the giant ocean in front of me going as far as I can see with no ending. Another reason I don't like going into the water, the ocean is terrifying especially when you don't know how to swim. Then there is the void element which in this case is me and my mind observing this presence and writing it out in this essay. Officially today there is a total of 118 elements in the periodic table. These ancient four elements originated from the ancient Greeks and then the fifth element aether (void) was added by Aristotle. Before the fifth element the first four elements which were earth, wind, water, and fire, represented to the ancient Greeks as well as modern science the four states of matter. In these 4 states of matter we have solid representing the earth element, liquid representing the water element, gas representing the air element, and plasma representing the fire element. The ancient 5 elements are active is every bodies daily routine schedule. It's something we see every day and don't notice the affects they have on us. Looking more closely to everyday life we have earth. Earth is what we walk on, it has a variety of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Technology And Technology Essay Effects of Technology Type and Use on Group Performance Rates Technology has arguably had one of the greatest impacts on our society in the past decade. It has integrated itself from only a few elements in life to now countless different ways and methods of usage throughout day to day activities (Lenhart, Purcell, Smith, & Zickuhr, 2010). There has been a steady increase in technology use not only with teenagers, but also adults. An aspect that is also on the rise with technology is the use of the internet (Lenhart et al., 2010). Some of the most popular uses of the internet include online shopping, reading news outlets, researching economic and health information, social media, and countless other means. Of the variety of uses for the internet, one of the most common is social networking; almost three–fourths of individuals between the ages of 18–29 frequently use a social networking website (Lenhart et al., 2010). Whether it is updating a profile or posting a photo, a common theme between the different forms of social networking and technology is communication. More than half of the individuals with a device use social media networks to communicate with other individuals (Lenhar et al., 2010). These different uses of technology can be conducted on several different types of devices, however, there are two types of devices that remain highly popular in society. Among those between the ages of 18–29, approximately 93% of those individuals own a cell phone. The percent of individuals who own cellphones continues to increase as well and has more than doubled among young teens in six years (Lenhart et al., 2010). Wireless computers like laptops have also increased in prevalence and continue to increase in popularity. Laptops are now a more popular choice compared to desktop computers (Lenhar et al., 2010). Technology, however, is not only making an impact on how we communicate and interact socially, but also professionally (Attaran & Attaran, 2001). There have been some major changes in the work environment by having individuals, instead of working separately, work as a team. Technology is now being used in the workplace to create more collaborative processes (Attaran & Attaran, 2001). Electronic devices are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Black Death and Its Effects Healing has been around a long time. You may think that medicine has changed a lot over the years, and it has for the better. But that does not mean that some of the practices have stayed around. prayer, accupuncture, diet, etc. have all stayed around, but have changed slightly. The plaque also known as the Black death swept over Europe and Asia in the 14 century to the 15th. This disease is spread by rats and killed many people. Over one third of the population died of Europe. This painful and terrible disease managed to tear families apart as well as communities. Black death was caused by rats and rat fleas. A rat flea lives off of blood from small mammals and sometimes but humans. If a rat flea were to bite an infected rat and a human afterwards, the human would become infected, and possibly die from the disease. Symptoms of the plague included but were not limited to fever, Bubos(large painful boils) and headaches. In the later stages the person would develop black and purple blotches all over their skin, and also cough up pus and blood. The disease traveled through blood, so once the sickness reached their lungs symptoms would only get worse, and most likely lead to death. How people would try to prevent the elements could be considered strange and useless in some peoples opinion, but during the black death people genuinely thought doing the following would help. Going outside, bathing, sex or other personal contact, and hot foods were all avoided. If you were to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Air is a detaching element and enables co–existence of the two main elements, fire, and water. Plants, in turn, give off oxygen this way it maintains the oxygen level on earth. • 34. Testing Different Websites Are The Best Process Of Control... Testing different websites' versions is the best process to control improvements. Although it sounds like a simple changing features activity, testing is a big challenge that often involves teams such as marketers, designers, researchers, and analysts, which makes the testing process even harder. The risk of failure on the experiment is higher when the test is built based on the team's insights only and not on the users' point of view. However, it is important to try different types of testing to uncover possible root causes of a drop in the website traffic and make wise decisions to fix it. The First test (A/B test) Once the first website version is published and we start tracking measurements, it is important to perform a simple A/B ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the time it requires resources that are already available at the company. In addition, it is important to choose relevant pages or element for the measurements and changes. Avinash also states that there must be big changes on the version A and B of the website, so that we can observe changes in conversions and outcome (Web Analytics, 2010, 209). A/B test has been described as the best technique to start a testing journey, nevertheless frequently relying on A/B test results could also mean that the changes are slowly impacting the traffic. Multivariate test Unlike in A/B test, in multivariate test we use more than one element at the same time. The first task is to identify the critical elements to be optimized. After that we will create two or more versions of each element. For example, using multivariate test to decide whether the picture on the landing page is bringing traffic or not, and where it looks more attractive on the page we can at least design three different versions: One with the picture on the right side, one with the picture on the left side, and another one with no picture at all. Multivariate test requires javaScript implementation from the testing tool; therefore each of the elements on the test would have a tag around, and the alternatives would be uploaded into the testing tool (google website optimizer). Compliance Status Following rules and regulations is important for institutions and any type of establishment to maintain organization and most importantly provide safety for those involved. For the organization and safety of everyone involved, it is important to comply with particular criteria. Hospitals are one of the many organizations that must comply with regulations to keep patients and staff safe and as well as maintain the quality of care. Ideally, a good care system for patients includes medical professionals as well as friends and family to compliment each other in providing for patient needs. The final standard under communication is the performance of a "time out" before a procedure. There are also elements of performance that must be met to be in compliance for this standard. The first is conducting a "time out" before every procedure. This is met by the Universal Protocol Policy. The Universal Protocol Policy also meets the next bullet point of standardizing "time out" for Nightingale Hospital and having them started by an elected team member with the involvement of team members. The third element of performance is performing a "time out" between a change of people performing a procedure on a patient. This is unfortunately not met by any protocol in the information provided by Nightingale Hospital. • 36. Classical Elements Of The Military Essay Classical elements of our military are organizational structure, principles of organizational reward, the machine metaphor, and the theory of bureaucracy. Many theories of management have military backgrounds that date back to the beginning of history to Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Napoleon. All of these leaders became successful through their efficiency to lead, line of command, unity, and division of work. The United States Military is divided into five branches of service. The Army is the the oldest branch of the military, and focuses on defending the country and is the main fighting force of the military. The Air Force works with the Army and is in charge of all of the satellites and nuclear missiles. The Navy ensures equal freedom in the oceans around the world, and protects the interests of our nation to be free. Marine Corps are the first ones to battle, and are responsible for delivering tasks on ground, sea, and in the air. The Coast Guard is responsible for boating safety and rescue, law enforcement, and controlling illegal immigration (Hewes 2005). These are the building blocks behind the reason why our military is so successful and powerful. In 1775, before our nation was established as a Country, colonists were organized into miscellaneous militias with no distinct structure or organization of a unified hierarchy. George Washington recognized the missing piece to the puzzle, and how the Continental Army would conquer and win the Revolutionary War. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. A Study Of Bitopological Spaces Abstract. In 1995, A.A. Nasef and T. Noiri [6] introduced the notion of strongly пЃў – irresolute functions. In the present paper, we generalize this notion to the setting of bitopological spaces and obtain some characterizations and properties of pairwise strongly semi–preirresolute functions. AMS Mathematics Subject Classifications (2010): 54E55, 54A05, 54C10, 54D05. Key words and phrases: semi–preopen, (i, j)–semi–preopen, semi–preirresolute, pairwise strongly semi–preirresolute. 1. Introduction and preliminaries The study of bitopological spaces was initiated by Kelly [4] in 1963. Abd ElMonsef et al. [1] introduced the notion of пЃў –open sets and пЃў –continuity in topological spaces. On the other hand, Andrijevic [2] called пЃў –open sets semipreopen and obtained many properties of such subsets. Recently, Khedr et al. [5] have investigated the notions of semi–preopen sets and semi–precontinuity in bitopological spaces. In 1995, Nasef and Noiri [6] defined and studied the concept of strongly пЃў – irresolute functions. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the concept of strongly пЃў –irresoluteness to the setting of bitopological spaces. Throughout the present paper, (X, пЃґ1, пЃґ2) and (Y, 1, 2) always mean bitopological spaces. For asubset A of a space X, пЃґi–c1(A) (resp. пЃґi–int(A)) denotes the closure (resp. interior) of A with respect to пЃґi , for i = 1,2. McDonald's uses elements of the Classical approach to management in several ways. The approach focuses on maximizing efficiency and productivity. Some other interrelated approaches are scientific management, administrative theory, and the bureaucracy theory. This theory can also be related to theorist Fredrick Taylor. The scientific management was created to analyze and synthesize workflow. He believed finding productive people that would maximize, and improve no social time and stay focused on their tasks. They believed that if a person fell ill it was because they were not living their life right and were being punished by the gods so that they would turn their life around and live more spiritually so as to please the gods. An good example of this is epileptic ceizures. "Since an epileptic fit is very sudden and striking, the condition was naturally attributed to the patient's violent possession by a god" (Jouanna, Allies, Eijk, 2012). The Fourth Digestion happens in the tissues, and is the final congellation of the Four Humors into living tissue. Its wastes are eliminated similarly to the Third Digestion. The Four Humors originate in the liver in the Second Digestion as follows: Blood, or the Sanguine humor, is the first to arise, and receives the richest, choicest share of nutrients. It is the most plentiful humor, and enters the general circulation. Phlegm, as Plasma or the Phlegmatic humor, is the second to arise and receives the next richest share of nutrients. It is also very plentiful, and enters the general circulation. Yellow Bile, or the Choleric humor, is the third to arise and receives a rather coarse, meager share of nutrients. It is not so plentiful. Only a slight residue enters the general circulation; the rest is stored in the gall bladder, its receptacle, to be used as needed. Black Bile, or the Melancholic humor, is the last to arise, and receives the coarsest, most meager share of nutrients. It is the least plentiful. Only a slight residue enters the general circulation; the rest is stored in the spleen, its receptacle, to be used as needed. The first two humors, blood and phlegm, are moist and flourishing, and are the metabolic agents of the Wet elements– Air and Water, respectively.
