2. Main characters
Jill and Joel are the main characters
in our music video. Our original idea
focused on young adolescences
behaving in a rebellious manner as
this tends to be what happens as
teenagers grow up. However, we
have changed our concept and
decided for it to focus on a strong
friendship between a girl and a boy
who have grown up together. These
characters will bump into each other
on an escalator and the montage will
be a flashback of all their memories.
In the edit, we will use colour for the
flashbacks and black and white to
portray the current situations.
3. Costumes
The costumes worn in the
music video by Jill are black
jeans, a white top, a black
cardigan and also a jumper.
Furthermore, Joel wears
black jeans, a white t-shirt, a
blue shirt, denim jeans and a
black hoody. All of these
costumes are high street
fashion- modern and stylish.
This is part of pop culture.
Therefore, we thought these
costumes would be
appropriate as they are
popular outfits teenagers
wear. As our music video is
going to be a montage,
there is likely to be a variety
of high street fashion
costume.
5. Locations explained…
Most of our locations are based outside. We chose to do this as the song ‘When we
Were Kids’ is about growing up and wanting to be a kid again; as you grow up you tend
to want to be away from home and as a kid, you usually love playing outside. The idea
of using a children’s park but being young adolescences implies that as you grow up,
you would love to get your childhood back. Therefore, we have shot Joel and Jill playing
on the swings together and messing around having a good time together. However, the
interior location is a common place to hang out as friends. This could be inter-textually
linked with the TV show ‘FRIENDS’. For instance, it focuses on friendship and they all hang
out at a coffee house called ‘Central Perk’.
