1. NETS for Students Grades 6-8 Incorporating Technology in the Classroom By Brian Mariano
2. Create original animations or videos documenting school, community, or local events. (1,2,6) Student will use digital photography and video and will document a school football game. They will create a news report about the rules, action, and game play of the sport. This will be used to share with our sister school in South Africa to show the type of sports American students participate in.
3. Select and use the appropriate tools and digital resources to accomplish a variety of tasks and to solve problems. (3,4,6) Students will be asked to create a family tree and share with the rest of the class. They will be free to decide what tools to use, such as digital photography, videos, charts, power-point presentations, etc…
4. Use collaborative electronic authoring tools to explore common curriculum content from multicultural perspectives with other learners. (2,3,4,5) The students will form groups of 2-3 and research a different culture. Using Google docs, they will use the information learned and coauthor a report on that culture.
5. Integrate a variety of file types to create and illustrate a document or presentation. (1,6) The student will create a newspaper reporting on the events that transpired during the novel, “The Call of the Wild” by Jack London. Using Microsoft Word, the student will incorporate pictures, customized titles and other items to make it visually appealing.
