Wednesday
A- There are 18 fourth grade students. 10 students are male and 8 are female. 13 of the
students are white and 5 are African-American.
S- The fourth grade students will be able list and explain the main reasons the Amazon
Rainforest is being depleted with 90% accuracy by the end of the lesson after reading the blog,
book, and participating in the Facebook and Twitter activities.
U- Materials used will be blogs, The Great Kapok Tree, Facebook, and Twitter.
R- Students will read blogs about Amazon depletion after having The Great Kapok Tree read
aloud to them. Students will then get on their Twitters and search the hashtag “save the
amazon” and explore what people have to say about it. Students will record their findings via
class Facebook page.
E- Students will be evaluated on the material that they shared on the Facebook page. During
the lesson, I will evaluate whether or not the media selected is beneficial to the students and
decide whether or not to keep the materials.
