A discussion group is a group of individuals with similar interest who gather either formally or informally to bring up ideas, solve problems or give comments. The major approaches are in person, via conference call or website.
2. DEFINATION :_
Group discussion is a process where exchange of idea and
opinions are debated upon.
This process mostly used for selecting candidate for
admission to management school basically for MBA.
Each group is then given a topic for discussion. Then topic
can be general or specific. Example:- Kashmir conflict or just
a phrase saying “where there is will there is a way”
3. TIPS ON GROUP DISCUSSION :-
1. Subject matter is essential :-
You should have subject knowledge & be well aware
of the latest happening around you, not just in India
but around the world as well.
To be a better position make sure that you have in
depth knowledge at the subject.
4. 2. Make sure you read widely :-
Being an and reader will help you in group discussion.
Last minute preparation should be a strictly a no while
you a preparing for group discussion.
Reading not only add to knowledge database but
increases your vocabulary skill as well.
5. 3. Choose magazine that are rich in content :-
Always opt for magazines that are contents rich and not
just full of advertisements.
Often magazine have columns which are promoting a
particular initiates etc.
Avoid such magazines do some research and buy the
best for you in the long run.
6. 4. Work on your communication skill :-
You should be well versed in your communication skill.
You should have a good vocabulary and decent
command over English.
Not only will this increases you knowledge, you will be

Body gesture are very important because your body
language say a lot about you.
In group discussion, sit straight avoids leaning back on
to the chair or knocking the table with pen or your
finger.
Also do not get disturb easily.
