Launched in April 2016 at Centro Latino, Paseo del Mar,
Zamboanga City
Organized by Department of Tourism in partnership with City
Government of Zamboanga and Hotel and Restaurant
Association of Zamboanga City
The initiation led to the improvement of Culinary Tourism of
Zamboanga and promotion as a product of Zamboanga City

Rationale
The Flavors of the Philippines is an annual major event of the
Department of Tourism showcasing the country’s authentic
regional cuisine. The local cuisine is a trend in Philippine
Tourism which gives any tourist a reason to visit a certain place.
In Zamboanga City, there exist the so called Culinary
/Gastronomy tour ( a tourism product , developed by the City
Tourism Office ).

Objectives
Savores 2016
To encourage Food Exhibitors in the preparation of
authentic local cuisine
To actively involve the local restaurateurs in the
promotion of Zamboanga City through Culinary Tour;
To promote the Culinary Experience to the visitors and
locals as well
To provide a venue for exposure ( of global standards )
with regard our local cuisines.

To promote culinary tour products in Zamboanga City
To help increase local and international travelers’
awareness and change their perception of Zamboanga
To encourage Food Exhibitors in the preparation of
authentic local cuisine and develop new dishes using
local available ingredients.
To actively involve the local restaurateurs in the
promotion of Zamboanga City culinary experience.
To highlight farm products and other SMEs of
Zamboanga City.
To educate young entrepreneurs and aspirant chefs of
the latest trends in culinary arts and preservation of
food heritage.

Concept
Promotion of Savores Event at Madrid Fusion Manila
One (1) day activity featuring unique culinary experience. A fusion
of Chavacano- Hispanic cuisine, Chavacano-Chinese cuisine and
Traditional Muslim cuisine all in one event with exciting cultural
performances
Culinary Showcase and on-site food selling featuring the iconic
delicacies of Zamboanga
