5. From 2012 to now…
GivingTuesday is a vital part of the end-of-year fundraising
cycle now, but it is still a fairly new idea.
- GivingTuesday started as a movement to raise
awareness of generosity in 2012.
- In 2021, over 2.7 billion dollars was raised (on and
offline) for non-profit organizations all over the world
- Over 35 million people participated in GivingTuesday in
the United States un 2021.
- In 2021, Facebook matched $8 million dollars of Giving
Tuesday giving.
- GivingTuesdaySPARK is a new movement for youth to
encourage volunteerism, kindness, and giving back.
- GivingTuesday will celebrate 10 years in 2022.
