Dear Judges:
My name is Casey Bragg and I am here to talk about my project to change the thoughts of young
girls through the pages of a catalog. When I was five, my favorite game to play was dress up. I
was a kid with a wild imagination. When I turned thirteen I saw the show America’s Next Top
Model and suddenly found my destiny. I became a model at age sixteen and got signed un-
exclusively with Element Models, which is part of the biggest agency in North America called
The Network. I have now been modeling for two years and am becoming an expert in the
modeling world. When Senior Project presented itself I thought I wanted to go behind the scenes
of modeling and actually create the catalog rather than be in the catalog, but also I wanted to help
girls come out of their shells and teach them that dreams can come true and anyone can be a
model. I thought the perfect way to do that is to teach some girls who are interested in the career
how to model and let them be a part in my catalog.
My product is a catalog for POSH Boutique. To create this catalog I needed models, make-up
artists, hair stylists, and also a mentor to help me organize. In order to understand all the behind-
the-scenes events that come with making a catalog, I researched fashion and all the careers in
fashion. After my research and understanding of everything I needed, I realized I needed
someone in this same field to help me with my project. My mentor’s name is Karyn and she is
the owner of POSH Boutique. She modeled in her early years and now she runs her own
boutique. After meeting with Karyn I realized the number one thing I needed was models. I
searched for models through my friends and realized there are many girls out there who want to
model, but they don’t have the right mind set or confidence to do so. So I talked to them and
asked to be in the catalog and they all agreed. Originally there were seven girls, but due to lack
of commitment with some girls, in the end there was only four. Besides the small speed bump of
the lack of models, everything else went rather smoothly.
Modeling is something very important to me. It was a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl.
This project has helped me not only realize that I love it even more than I thought, but also
helped me realize that I want to help other young girls achieve what I have achieved. In the
beginning I wanted to create this catalog so I know what goes on behind the scenes and would
have more respect for my coworkers when I model. So I researched all the careers involved and
also the history of fashion itself. Then towards the end I realized I really love helping girls
modeling and helping them realize that they can achieve their goals just like I did. In the future I
2. would love to continue modeling but I would also love to help other girls along the way and
become the next Tyra Banks.
In conclusion, this senior project has really opened my eyes to the field of modeling. It has
helped me not only in my career but it has helped me give other girls a chance to get into the
modeling field. I feel this project is more real and helpful than any other project in school. I hope
you have a very nice day and thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Casey Bragg
