1. For me to describe my word graphic please call me!
I think it would be more fun for us to talk about it than for you to read
about it.
For your convenience I have attached a copy of my resume and a formal
cover letter. I welcome the opportunity to talk to you about why I am a
fit.
2. So far, in my journey though education and employment I have come to believe that
there are some critical life skills that are incredibly important to making a difference in the
world. First, being a great communicator and having excellent interpersonal skills. Second,
passion, that deep-seated love and energy for what you do. Third, leadership, being a self-
starter and inspiring others to follow. And, finally believing so deeply in what you do that
you naturally become a great brand ambassador to the organization and the cause.
Recently, I graduated from Walden University with a degree in health
communication. And through part-time employment, volunteer roles and internships I
have gained priceless communication experience with children, teens and adults. As the
Director of Mini Shock and Fit Kids I have lead phone conference calls, offered education on
a variety of programs, created social media channels and presented at various meetings.
In addition, I have discovered the power of passion through my internship with I AM
THAT GIRL. I am deeply committed to the mission and I am a true believer in speaking our
truth and discovering our unique inner beauty. Each week I find great joy in facilitating and
leading our weekly I AM THAT GIRL chapter meeting. In addition, I have learned the
discipline needed to design the curriculum for group discussion, development and growth.
It is my job to introduce and speak about the curriculum within the meetings and explain
the significance of each topic to all of our chapter members. I’m convinced, each stretch
opportunity I have engaged in has strengthened my communication skills and added more
to my understanding of the importance interpersonal communication skills in life and at
work.
I am passionate about working for an organization that is a cause or supports a
cause. I know, it may sound apple pie, but I really do want to do epic stuff and I really do
want to make a positive difference in the world. And my internship with I AM THAT GIRL
and the local chapter team has allowed me to do just that, I have been able to connect with
young like-minded women who also want to make a difference in the world. I speak with
women all over the world about I AM THAT GIRL, the values we live, and the movement we
are inviting them to join. I have helped launch chapters in the United States and globally
and the thing that we all have in common is our collective belief in the power of self-love
and the movement that I AM THAT GIRL is promoting. When a company is a cause, what
follows is a movement of people who share the same values and same aspirations. People
opt into movements and this is why a cause-oriented company is so important to me. I
want to be a part of something that I can fully dedicate my time, talent and skills to. I want
to work for a company that leverages my communication skills and offers me and others
the opportunity to make a difference in the world.
I consider myself to be leader and leaders are self-starters. I am not afraid to take
risks, try different things, and step outside of the box. I am not afraid to initiate and while I
can take orders and follow direction, I am not only an order taker, I am a person who when
the vision or objective is clear, can lead. I took a major risk in starting a local I AM THAT
GIRL chapter in San Diego. When I started, I did not have a following. However, once my
3. chapter began and girls were coming on a regular basis I was not afraid to initiate and dive
deep into meaningful conversation that has and will continue to have a lasting impact on
our lives. I was not afraid to take a risk because I’m passionate about the movement and
making a difference.
Finally, I believe that I would be a great brand ambassador. A brand is a promise of a
pending experience. It says to people, “Come work with us and these are the kind of people
that you will rub shoulders with, this is the kind of culture you will get to work in, this is
the kind of training you will receive, and these are the cool products and services you get to
promote.” As a brand ambassador I would be very excited about crafting presentations,
telling stories, and spreading the stories in a timely and timeless fashion through various
social media platforms. For example: I AM THAT GIRL is a brand that I have grown to be
very passionate about. I believe in the cause, I believe in the people, and mostly I believe in
the impact we are having women all over the world.
The communication experiences that I have developed through my degree and the
other employment experiences I have gained will allow me to be an advocate for a
company whose mission I truly believe in. I want to be an ambassador for a worthy, make
the world better cause. I know success is never an individual effort, so I look forward to
learning from team members and locking arms to realize our dreams and do our passions
and together we will make a bigger difference.
