This document provides instructions for writing a compare and contrast essay focusing on experiences with windows and mirrors in one's education and how they have impacted a sense of belonging. Students are asked to discuss where they felt they did not belong in school and what they learned from those window experiences, as well as where they saw themselves reflected in something for school (mirror experiences) and how those mirrors made them feel like they belonged.
