2. The International covenant on Economic, social & cultural Rights is a
multilateral treaty.
It’s adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 16 December 1966,
and came in force from 3 January 1976.
The Covenant is monitored by the UN Committee on Economic, social &
Cultural Rights.
As of September 2018, the Covenant has 169 parties. further four countries,
including the United States, have signed but not ratified the Covenant.
3. The International Covenant on Economic, Social, & Cultural Rights
consisted of 31 Articles which are divided in 5 parts.
These rights are aimed to fulfilling certain material needs such as, food,
water, shelter an providing access to cultural life of the community.
ICESCR refers to the need to create conditions “where everyone may enjoy”
the full range of human rights.

4. Part 1
Article 1 :
People have right of self determination.
All people may freely dispose there natural wealth & resources without
prejudice.
The state parties shall promote the realization of the right of self determination
and shall respect that right , in conformity with the provision s of the Charter of
the United Nations.
