4. Aims, objectives and outcomes
Aims
Gain increased insight into the complex nature of English language vocabulary.
Objective:
The purpose of todays lesson is to reflect on the rules accompanying words used
in English language and to test knowledge in relation to verbs and nouns.
Outcome:
By the end of the lesson, learners will be more aware that the same English
words can be represented and applied in a multidimensional way.
5. Today’s Lesson
In todays lesson we will question what a noun and verb is and the common
relationship they may share in the English language.
Firstly, defined will be the noun; secondly, defined will be the verb. Once an
awareness has been constructed the next level will be the objective. Thirdly, the
lesson will move onto the relationship some nouns and verbs share. Following
onto an individual activity at the end answers will be shared with the rest of the
class. Fourthly, A practical video will be used and discussed during the main part
of the lesson. This will follow with an activity and again answers will be shared
with the class. Finally, we will summarise what was learned.

A. Wright: get tables and names arranged – I will connect PowerPoint to PC and have A4 paper and pens ready (resources for learners).
A. Wright can explain starter and A. Rendell hands out paper with: fly, building, stamp and cook.
Just the title (still a bit undecided however this is what they call it – I think?)
A. Rendell
A. Rendell
A. Wright: Explain nouns: Bird, Cinema, lights, film, dinosaur (you know) – not more than a minute.
A. Rendell: I will Explain verbs (rain, walking, protecting, cooking, smiling/grin, thrilled, driving - not more than a minute).
A. Wright: You can explain this if you like? You can relate this to the starter activity. The next slide also leads onto the activity which you can ask them to do.
Learners can use dictionaries if they like but we will not ask them to do so (or what do you think?)
A. Rendell: I will ask the learners to share their answers.
You can explain your video, I explain my parts (hope you like it?)
