The document provides location reports for several scenes in a short horror film, including the protagonist's bedroom, parents' bedroom, bathroom, landing, street, and alleyway. The protagonist's bedroom and parents' bedroom will be filmed in the filmmaker's home to provide realism and for a conventional murder scene, with potential minor lighting issues addressed by closing curtains. The bathroom brings more dynamic lighting. Potential sound issues exist on the street and alleyway but minimal in private home locations. Lighting in the alleyway enhances its sinister atmosphere.
2. Bedroom – Protagonist Room
My short film will have a scene in the
protagonist bedroom when the
protagonist places teddy in room and
sleeps. The reason I have decided to use
this location is to create realism of a
teenagers bedroom.
There should not be any sound issues as
this will be filmed in my own home
therefore will not be any general public
nor will that will distract the monologue
or the sound of natural environment.
Slight lighting issues due to natural
lighting coming through windows
therefore the curtains will be closed to
make the dark atmosphere.
3. Bedroom 2- Parent Room
My short film will have a scene in the
parents bedroom when the protagonist
murders her parents. The reason I have
decided to use this as the murder
location as this is a conventional aspect
of a horror film.
There should not be any sound issues as
this will be filmed in my own home
therefore will not be any general public
nor will that will distract the monologue
or the sound of natural environment.
Slight lighting issues due to natural
lighting coming through windows
therefore the curtains will be closed to
make the dark atmosphere.
4. Bathroom
The reasons I chosen to film here is
because I thought it would be boring if
the whole film was filmed in one
setting of bedrooms and streets.
Therefore by using this location it
gives the film more of a dynamic with
the bright lighting used.
No sound issues because it is my
personal space so no general public
will be there so no noise will be made.
I can control what sound happens in
these scenes.
5. Landing
The landing will on appear in my film for a
short period of time because it will be seen
when the protagonist is coming up the stairs to
represent fear of what is about to happen.
No sound issues because it is my personal
space so no general public will be there so no
noise will be made. I can control what sound
happens in these scenes.
A few lighting issues because natural light
shines through from bedroom areas therefore
these doors will be closed so that a more dark
and sinister atmosphere is created.
6. Street
The reasons I chosen to film here is because
I thought it would be boring if the whole film
was filmed in one setting which would have
being the house. I need to include some
scenes from outside so the use of streets and
alleyway will work effectively.
There might be a few sound issues in this
location because it’s a busy location and the
general public will be walking by as well as
the ongoing traffic that will be passing.
Therefore there might be some distractions
and interruptions while shooting in this
location.
There will not be any lighting issues as this
location will be filmed as the sun is setting
therefore the natural lighting will be perfect
for the production.
7. Alleyway
The reason I have chosen dark alleyway in
my film is because it creates more tension
which shows hat there are more than just
the protagonist in the film. This location
was really easy to find because it is located
nearby and is very accessible which is why I
decided to include it within my short film.
There shouldn’t be many sound issues
because it is way off the main road therefore
not many people will be walking down here
so often so there shouldn’t be many
disruption or interference.
A few lighting issues because it will be dark
however I believe this will add to the vibe of
a sinister environment.
