NME keeps within the house style as in this particular issue
the black, white and red colour scheme is kept throughout
the magazine even on the double page spread. The cut out
effect of the letter’s on the front cover, cover line remains
the same on the double page spread therefore there is a
clear link that they are in the same magazine. The yellow
that is incorporated on the front cover is carried through to
the contents page as in the subscription feature the text is
made yellow. The typography on the front page and the
contents page are similar and the font is the same. The
front page and the double page spread and tightly linked
due to the red typography on the front cover that is jaunty
and in different positions which again like the cut out
lettering is carried through to the double page spread.
Therefore this help the house style to have great continuity
within the magazine.

Q magazine remains with the house style as on the
front cover just like NME the black, red and white
colour scheme is kept throughout the magazine
contents and DPS. The front cover image and DPS
image are very similar therefore showing that they
are from the same issue. The silver/grey background
is emphasised with the desaturated image on the
DPS. As well as with the Q review box on the contents
page. The Q logo is carried on through to the contents
top left hand corner and also the bottom right hand
corner of the DPS showing that it is all from the same
magazine.

The front cover and the DPS of this issue of Kerrang
are closely linked as the cracked effect of the
masthead is carried through to some of the
typography on the DPS in particular on the pull quote
the yellow, white and black colour scheme is
emphasised as well as the cracked effect of the font.
The choice of everything in capital’s is carried out on
the contents and also on the DPS with certain words
in bold as well which emphasises these words and
attract the audience. The house style is established
through the continuity of the colour scheme and also
the typography.
