5. This challenge is
for ALL sections
The Challenge is to do 9 challenges:-
3 compulsory plus 2 each from categories
of YOU (Y), the WORLD (W) and Your
COMMUNITY (C).
Kingstone Brownies have chosen so far-
C- Make up Unit Rules to abide by and
remind each other.
W- Decide what job you’d like, and
research what is needed to do it? They
recorded what employment they wanted
to do, and we will see in 12 yrs time if it
came true?
Y- Create, decorate a ‘sharing box’, what
makes them happy, then share it with the
brownies.
C- collect and recycle old clothes, we gave
out bags for the girls families to get rid of
any clothes that could be recycled. The
idea was to give the proceeds to Thinking
day Fund.
6. BBBC- community
For one BBBC the girls
chose to learn to knit.
So they had to invite
their grandmothers to
come to brownies to
help knit a small square
for a knee blanket.
Some learnt very
quickly & some needed
a little bit of help.
7. WORLD THINKING DAY
FEBRUARY 22nd 2014
AT
ALEXANDRA PALACE, LONDON.
Kingstone Brownies and Guides were
amongst 100s of guiding members at this
Big Brownie Birthday ‘CELEBRATION’ for
World Thinking Day.
The list of activities to take part in were
amazing such as:-
Zorbing, Climbing ,Skill games , Craft ,
Cycling activity, Sports activity, Crazy golf
Food activities, Shows, and Face painting
to name a few.
It was a long, but truly wonderful day for
everyone who went. Certainly a day to
talk about for years to come.
Besides remembering our world-wide
guiding family at this time, it was very
significant to remember so many families
that have been affected by the torrential
flooding in our country too.
8. CELEBRATE WTD 2014
Alexandra Palace 22/2/14
22/2/2014 the
day began 05:30
trip to London
Ally Pally. Madley
& Kingstone
Guides &
brownies had a
fun filled day with
100s of other girl
guides from all
over the world.
9. • Brownies were challenged to travel the universe to find
the missing stars and had to choose from many activities
including circus skills, nail art, traditional games, activities run by
Guides, sparkly headbands, and much, much more
• Each participant received a special sling backpack and Star
Quest badge – and lunch and drinks were all provided
• This event was open to all Brownies. Leaders helped in many
ways to make it a fantastic day to recover all the lost stars.
10. The weekend’s activities were themed
around the World Centre we had chosen.
This was ‘Sangam’ at Waddow Hall (Lancs)
Brownies took part in five sessions where
they learnt about the World Association
of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
They tried an outdoor activity, turned
their hand to a new craft, explored a
different culture and took part in a service
project. See photo gallery.
11. At London Science Museum
Sleepover
Girlguiding Hfds
June 21-22nd 2014
Arrived at the museum after closing time to
the public. Then slept the night in the
museum, after lots of activities in the
evening and more the following morning.
Amazing!
From 10am, a short walk through Hyde Park
(or take a London cab like we did) to
Buckingham Palace, and arrived just in time
for changing of the guards. Then an ice-cream
as we walked through St James's Park,
across to Whitehall St and past Downing St to
see Mr. Cameron.
Saw the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Made our way across Westminster Bridge
with great views of the London Eye. Had a
rushed lunch at McDonalds before a
magnificent 30min ride on the London Eye,
where you could see for miles, all iconic
landmarks of London. Caught the coach
nearby and then contentedly fell asleep on
the journey home. All for £75:00pp
