Question six
1. Here is a photo of my two page spread In InDesign and in
Photoshop.
Here is one of my
first photos taken
for the photoshoot,
it shows the lack of
skills in lighting and
angles
There is clear
progress in my
camera skills.
Here is the print
screen of my first use
of Photoshop for my
music magazine and
the final one, both for
the front page, there
is a clear increase in
skills and tools used.
Question Six: What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
Through creating and researching music
magazine, this media coursework has
allowed me to explore a range of
technologies and I have been able to
explore the range of resources
available. The first technology I
experienced was the digital camera, I
first used this to take photos for my prelimary task, at first I didn’t understand the importance of
camera... camera angles and lighting. After much research by the time It came to my actual
magazine, the digital camera helped me create self-timed photos, get the
correct lighting and angle. Many of my pictures being taken outside meant
that I had to change many setting to get the right focus.
Without a camera I wouldn’t have been able to achieve
the photos needed to make my magazine look
professional.
I ended up using Photoshop to
create my 2 page spread, content
page and front page. After having
difficulties with the InDesign
software. I have learnt a large
range of skills in Photoshop now
and am amazed on how much I
have improved in Photoshop, at
first I found it difficult to
understand but now I can do everything with ease. Photoshop was essential for the creation of my
magazine. Helping it look professional and being able to change photos or writing with ease. I have
learnt the importance of cutting things out clearly and making sure all the house colours match up
across all the pages. It has also taught me the importance of saving my work as much as possible.
This project has also taught
me the importance of saving
work constantly and making
sure I always have copies of
all my work, to guarantee
that it doesn’t get corrupt or
go missing. InDesign was
originally used for my two
page spread, after watching
2. several YouTube videos on how InDesign worked I had a large understanding of it, although and
being unable to remove them, this would of resulted in an all-white background for my two page
spread, which would of not suited my conventions. This is why I moved my two page spread across
to Photoshop and as you can see it is very colourful. By using the technology of Blogger it has shown
me the amount of resources available on the world wide web, it has also taught me how to organise
individual posts, daily posts and be able to create new pages on blog and adding pictures.
GoAnimation – This also showed me the wide range of
resources available on the World wide web that I never
knew of. GoAnimation also taught me the importance of
selecting the correct language for the animations. I had an
issue when first using GoAnimation as I had selected the
wrong language and I was unable to understand what they
were saying. I have also had issues using GoAnimate in the
evaluation with links not working and the animation not being able to process some words, this is
happened to an extent that I am unable to use it.
Prezi is by far my favourite bit of technology used in this media
project, it is very easy to use and allows you to create something
completely unique, I especially loved using this with my Pitch. I
learnt that there are very unique websites on the internet and
experiences in which I would never of known about unless I had
done this media project. Voice recorders showed me how much
technology has improved over the years, using a voice recorder
felt very odd and outdated..
