This presentation will discuss Linux Strategy:
• Why did IBM invest in Linux?
• What is Linux Technology Center?
• How does partnership with the open source development
community work?
• Why is Linux a key building block within a dynamic
infrastructure?
• How System z's extreme virtualization is allowing
companies to save millions of dollars by consolidating
over a thousand servers with Linux and System z.
• Why System z and Linux provide an extraordinary
platform for cloud computing.
Dennis Wunder has worked in IBM for 30 years. He is currently an Executive IT Specialist in the
Executive Briefing Center in Poughkeepsie and has been a briefing IBM’s customers for the past 21
years in the world. Dennis is experienced in many areas including z/VM, z/OS, Linux, IBM
Middleware, Networking, and desktop operating system. He explains the business value of new
technologies with an easy to understand, common sense manner. He actually interacts with many
IBM’s customers and his relevant abroad experience make him an important resource within IBM,
where he often is called as representative of the company in national and international events.
Previously he worked in IBM Development in Endicott, as instructor in IBM’s Chicago Education
Center, as program Support Representative (PSR) in Manhattan and as a Customer Engineer (CE)
