2. The Sub-Cycle
• The water cycle is condensation,
precipitation, evaporation.
• The sub-cycle goes the same but in
between it has infiltration and sub-surface
flow.
3. Aquifers And The Impermeable
layer
• Aquifers are fractures and soil pores of
which a usable quantity of water can be
held.
• The Impermeable layer is a layer of which
water cannot pass through usually the
surrounding of a aquifers.
4. Expected
• Most people think groundwater is
underground flowing rivers but its not.
• It can be stagnant, frozen or the fast
flowing rivers .
• It can take years to form an aquifer and
then it still needs to find a way out.
5. What’s What
• Surface water and ground water are
constantly swapping places. Ground water
can move through the ground into a lake
or stream, whilst surface water can soak
through the ground and become ground
water.
6. It Needs Protection
• Most ground water is clean but ground
water can become polluted or contain
mated.
• It can become polluted by leaky tanks,
land fills, or when people apply to much
fertilizer / pesticides.
7. Why
• Ground water contains a large amount of
the water on earth and most of ground
water is fresh.
• So it is a viable long term solution to lack
of water in the future
• Why destroy what is perfect
